Pavs is great. From the Ottawa Sun: quote-He was asked if he remembered the last fight he was in. Yeah, he said. Fifteen minutes ago. Now after every game you will come and ask me why I dont fight. http://www.ottawasun.com/sports/hockey/2010/10/08/15639036.html Yeah, I couldn't watch HNIC; anyone know what Cherry had to say? I found this site, but our internet is slow this evenning so I can[t see any of these. http://www.dagens-hockey.se/hockeyclips.html

No kidding, I mean think about it: They go get the goalie that the "team to beat" in their own division owns Bert is gonna be a playmaking sumbitch this season.
-
Will we be down a bit after the openner, and the Hawks will be more determined, or do we have confidence and momentum?. Those top three Hawk lines still have some force to them. This is going to be a good series this year.

I agree. When Perry got Pavel's helmet off so easily, and without contest, I was worried that Pavs was a deer in the headlights and would take a few hard ones then never recover and have to turtle or tackle. I was worried, and then suprised and then really excited and had to watch it a few more times. I think once the lid came off, Pavs thought "Holy s***, this aint Scott Neidermeyer, it's ON". After that, Pavel looked like he knew what he was doing. Perry was unloading in the eafly going but Pavs kept moving his head and moving his grab arm so Perry's punches were glancing off it a lot. Pavel didn't back down, he didn't go for the tackle, he didn't turtle, he didn't bongo out like Semin; he went toe to toe with a big Canadian boy and at the very least, held his own. I gotta admit, i'm looking forward to Don Cherry's commentary on this. Is he going to praise Perry for sending a message of will he admit to the courage, heart, and skill displayed by one of the most highky skilled Europenas to ever play the game. Thanks for this post, Esteef, I had to wade thru two and half pages of ridiculous enforcer arguement to find this little nugget of an analysis by you. The most awesome openning game in years and these guys still find something to fight about.

Yeah, I was trying to get it going too so I could post it. it was a little scary watching him go down like a sack of potatos like that. I have a bad feeling for him that he's going to be out for a while. He was searching around inside his mouth for lost chiclets. He had to be helped off the ice (upright with skates moving a little bit) by two guys, one under each arm.

I 'spose it is. I've realized that these are prospects that include multiple years. So if it includes our late draft picks of maybe a 4 year span, and ranks them against other teams earlier draft picks in the same four year span, you'd think their earlier picks from '06.'07,'08,'09 would all be taking up the top 100 while our late picks eat Giordano's pizza and watch. Did I make that clear? A little help please if I didn't.

Thanks for taking th time to post this. I'd switch the hawks and Flames for starters. The Flames just signed Brenden Morrison for $750k to fill holes until people start getting healthy...already. And they have no chemistry on their first line. The Hawks aren't going to be that bad. As much as LGW dislikes Crosby, I'd think you'd know by now never to underestimate that little s***. I'd have them higher, too.

Can't help but wonder if that was due to a persuasive agent, or was it his idea.
-
Maybe they feel the captive market of 23 with a collective income of $57M is enough. Them boys gotta eat after practice. Toews : "Good practice guys. Anyone hungry?" Keith : "Yeah, for some reason I'm really craving pizza. Let's all go get some, except Hossa, he really sucked today." Hossa : "Maybe 'boo' in Slavak mean 'Marion gets Cheese and Pepperoni".
-
Yeah, that was my point. And if you look at it as only 1 in the top 50...it's nothing to get all psyched up about, that's for sure.
-
Looks great on paper, thats for sure. Anyone know about Bertuzzi's status of his back issue? That scares me, it was a season long issue a few years ago.
-
There should be three to four prospects per team in the top 100. I'm just saying... I'd be curious to see Illitch's front office, scouting, and development budget compared to other teams.

That's it, thanks. There's also another song I've heard in Vancouver with the lyric "Darcy Tucker, that little f*****". "All the Leafs Stink" sounds like a good song for the DropKick Murphy's to rock.
-
Anyone have a link to this song? I think there is acutally more than one song that includes the lyric "Darcy Tucker, that little f*****" Every time my wife hears "Darcy Tucker" she can't help it and blurts out "...that little f*****". All the Leafs stink Truth hurts, they're fakes Darcy Tucker That little f***** See the Sens go All the Leafs blow Turns the lights out Carry them home All the Leafs stink Pat Quinn's a dink Sundin won't fight He'll stake you all night See the Sens go All the Leafs blow Turn the lights out Carry them home Domi, hardhead Career is dead Belfour makes stops And bribes the cops

I stay with wood. 1) I have too many other sports and hobbies fighting for my discretionary $. 2) I feel I'm not good enough with the stick to get enough of a return on my investment. 3) When I've tried them, I feel they are actually too responsive for my lack of skill: the puck responds to stick movements I didn't realize I was giving it. 3) As a Dman, I do like the idea of a lighter stick to poke check with, though. 4) I lay the lumber a bit too much, and in all areas of my life, I'm just hard on my gear in general. 5) Living in the Pacific North West, some of the guys on the team are loggers and I gotta support them. Good luck with your stick. Looking forward to your review.

That is a good point. I guess I could have just as easily said "The Sedins would never do that".
-
The best thing about clicking on the link is being able to watch the hockeybuzz prospects video in the right hand margin that featured Wings prospect Brendon Smith. Looks like a good kid.
-
You mean because of the whole "Dallas" thing? Hmm, something to think about.
-
The Sedins could never do that.
-
Please elaborate.
-
Didn't Bertuzzi already go after him and give him a good thrashing? If an opportunity presents itself, go ahead and thrash Orpik again with good hard hits, but don't go out of your way and get a penalty again for hitting him or fighting him again.

I had to log in just so i could +1 this post. Edit: Oh, and thanks for all the feed back on naming our little girl Lilja. I'm liking it more and more. Lils Lowell. Someone suggested Andrea with an accent. I already have a favorite niece named Andrea. She's a great skater and a great volleyball player, so i call her Dreya The Playeh.

Yes, D & Z are better defensively, and if anybody could figure out the Sedins, it's Hank and Pavs . Sometimes, you swear there are three Sedins on the ice together. In a 7 game series, I'd go with D & Z because of the defensive edge, and the fact that the Sedins can be just a little bit streaky sometimes. It would be hard to bet aginst Pavs in a gmae like that, but it wouldn't suprise me a bit if the Sedins won.

Hmmm...we're pregnant with a girl; can a girl be named Lilja? Lilja May Lowell? My wife is seriously contemplating "Stevie". She adores Yzerman. (But who doesn't) Edit: WHat happenned to the negs? You could just neg me if you didn't like it instead of hijacking an entire thread with replies. Sorry.
