Good post. Sure, champions, of course win no matter what. But last time Detroit was this depleted I think they went 1-10 during a stretch of 11 games a year and a half ago. We all remember the Red Griffs. I call it as i see it. Maybe that s why I'm not too popular with some on LGW, but I see what I see and i'm not swayed by the bandwagon or a lose. I'd wish the Pens the best of luck, but I think the Wings are the ones who need some luck right now. Either way, I just hope it is decided on the ice, not in the War Room in Toronto.

But the Ducks were up front and in our face; we knew what we had to do to win. The Pens style is more guerrila warfare; they're going to hide in the bushes along side the boards and off to the side of the net and snipe little goals in bunches. So even when we contain them for 55 minutes, they can snipe 3 goals in no time. If Ozzie can continue to save the bacon at key times, he will be Conn Smythe guy. Edit: Ha! Ray Ferraro Team 1040 Vancouver just said that if he had to pick a Conn Smythe at this point in the playoffs, it would be Chris Osgood.

I sure as hell hope you're right. I've NEVER felt this way about a series before. NEH-VER! I just see too fierce of a foe for our tired injured heroes to beat. Luckily, I'm not in the room and won't be on the ice. There's a reason that I'm just goofing around on the internet when i should be working, and the Detroit Red Wings are World Champions. I am really nervous. The Pens actually look like the better team. 1. Detroit is tired from 7 game Duck series. That took a lot out of them and the pace of the Chi series hasn't let them recover. Detroit has been getting more injured and more tired as the playoffs have gone on while Pittsburgh has been gaining momentum and getting stronger and more confident. Now they get a measely two days off to face a young, totally amped, and fresh Pittsburgh, with a back to back, then a travel day, then game three. Holy heck! 2. Crosby and Malkin both have grown and drank the frikin Hulk juice since last year. We can stimey them all game then watch as they bust out 3 goals in 5 minutes to erase a 2-0 lead. 3. Since their new coach has arrived they have won 30 out of 42 games. 4. They know that if they win game one, they get a very tired Detroit team in a rockin crazy builidng in Pittsburgh for two games. They will come out like a bat outta hell, and our vets will come out after being injured and need to get used to the pace again. They will have to weather the first onslaught. Even with Ozzie standing on his head, it will be 2-0 before Detroit knows what hit them. Then a Pitt power play and its a very deep hole to climb out of for the entire series. 5. Detroit WILL NOT GET THE CALLS IN THIS SERIES. Even the guys on the Team 1040 in Vancouver have said that. I'm preparing for an onslaught, and going down in defeat in 6 games. I'm sick to my stomache, and am going to be a mess...unless...

Conventional Wisdom say the Wings are tired and the Pens are young and rested, and i agree. Two days off then the Pens back to back Sat and Sunday at the pace of a SCF game? No way. Then a travel day and another game? The Wings cannot do that. Depth schmepth. The Wings will be flat and heavy legged and are going to get burned and i am not happy about it. That schedule is a crock of s***. WTF?

Yes, I believe the Pins are better this year due to the growth and experience of Malkin and Crosby, but you got to remember that other than a few flurries here and there towards the end of a couple of the games, the Pins were completely DOMINATED for the vast majority of the series. If you can't admit that, YOU HAVE NO CREDIBILITY HERE!

Hey, OP, welcome to Detroit. This started out as a great thread until that EMalkintent came aboard. But we can just skip on by his posts. Such is the internet. Crosby and Malkin worry me this year. People can say what they want about Crosby, but the guy is a tenacious competitor and is strong as can be with such a low center of gravity. He is truly amazing. That being said, I can't believe how many times during the playoffs I've seen Crosby alone on the side of the net waiting for a juicy rebound or pass. WTF? Its Sidney Frikin Crosby. Like they're not monitoring when he's on the ice and where the heck he is at ALL TIMES? Sheesh. Its going to be a much better series this year.

Dudes. Conks lost in the WC for those two teams then they lost in the finals while he road the pine. HE won the WC for The Wings and now we will win the finals while he rides the pine. Do I have to do everything around here? Sheesh.

This is the inherent problem with pro sports once they reach this part of the season. THe people who are not necessarily fans of the game come out of the wood work and want to make up fun and interesting ways to make the competition fun and interesting for themselves. Thats why I quit watching the super bowl years ago. I don't want to see Suzy Spain and the rest of the Tobloid Journalists go behind the scenes to rate the players wive's fashion, or see who has man boobs (can you say Buflugian?). I don't care to see the mayors betting crates of stupid state representing articles or any of those distractions. I know it comes with the territory, but this post is as close as I'm going to get to any of it. I just want to watch the Red Wings win playoff hockey. They can say what they want, we know how heavy the Stanley Cup is, and they don't.

I'm not the type to worry. But Chicago still worries me. And Pittsburgh really worries me. I'm actually afraid of Pittsburgh this year, and I secretly hope Babcock doesn't decide to put me in.

I heard this on Team 140 in Vancouver today. Scott Neidermeyer has wanted to finish his career in Vancouver as he is from BC. A deal couldn't be reached in the past, and he wants to play in the Olympics in his home state while playing NHL there too. His agent is based in Vancouver, blah blah blah. Not picking on ya Dude, but I came across this today and just had to bump it.

On the Team 1040 Vancouver they do their "Who's hot in hockey" segment. Today it was Valteri Fillpula. No goals, but a ton of unbelievable assists and defense like they wish Canucks forwards could play. They're talking about how to build a team, and every other sentence contains either the word "Detroit" or the words "Red Wings". They are gushing over Detroit's consistant success and want so baclly to emulate it. Very flattering. Go Wings.

While 4wheeling my camper van thru Mexico at the end of the season and during the first round, I met a Canadian who tol me about www.hockeywebcasts.com I'd never seen it before on any LGW posts. He said it always has every game. Been working good for me.
