Which of These Players Will be the Next to Score a Goal?
T.Low replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
Datsyuk. It will be on his first shift, roofs it wrister in the 3 hole over K'Bulin's shoulder from near the left dot. Crowd goes bonkers, Dats glides on one skate with both hands held up at shoulder height. Mark my words. -
Its called "marketing". While people are watching one game, make sure to market the next game to them. Not that big of a deal. I always thought it was peculiar when SportsCenter or (whatever post game show) would begin with the game I just watched. I know what happenned, I just spent three hours watching it. Tell me something I don't know, like something about a different game.

Thats funny. But this was funnier. Who is this poster? He 's got to be on LGW. 4. Posted by PavRules Fri May 15, 2009 11:45 am EDT Report Abuse This series not a “well fought seriesâ€, it was pure ugliness. It drives me absolutely crazy how so many higher ups in the NHL have ignored just how poor the officiating was in this series, even the Detroit management. I respect Babcock & Company's will to just call it a "well fought series" and just move on, but c'mon. How can so many punches to the head, checks lead by a rising elbow, and blatant cross checks be completely missed. How many times can Rob Neidermayer get away with reaching across simply punching the opposing winger on almost every faceoff for no reason? How many cross checks can Pronger get away with? He was even able to draw a penalty by cross checking Hudler in the back. How can the other Neidermayer or Brown get away with skating run around and trying to elbow everyone in the head? (On a sidenote, I loved seeing Neidermayer get dominated in the footrace that eventually lead to Helm’s goal…way to “skate like a forwardâ€). It’s sad that Detroit was eventually forced to step up their own share of dirty play otherwise they would have gotten buried. I give the Wings credit, men with any less composure (like myself) would’ve taken my stick and seen how many whacks it would’ve taken before Pronger or Neidermayer’s head popped off. This series was an embarrassment to the entire NHL and only the fans seem to have a problem with it. I love hockey and I play recreationally year around, but if Anaheim had won another series I guarantee I would've given up on the NHL completely and never bought another item or go to another game. It's good to see the good guys win, but this series was inexcusable and embarrassing for hockey. This is terrible especially when you consider that crap eventually funnels down to our levels of play where most play purely for fun. You suck, NHL.

Its simple. The Wings are the good looking built dude that can beat anybody's ass, drives the sweet 4x4 and the new ZR1 Vette, has the coolest, best looking girl, and makes a ton of money. The Hawks are the scrawny guy making no money, driving the rusted out Caprice Classic that smells like warm beer and vomit, has a skanky girl that bitchs at him and belittle's him infront of his buddies. Thats where the hate comes from. The Have Nots hate the Haves.

Ha. He thinks he hates Detroit now. Just wait a couple a weeks.

Awh, Dude, me too. I was a wreck yesterday. I was pacing around the house and had to keep reminding myself that nothing I do will affect the outcome of the game. I was thinking that i couldn't drink the same brand of beer that I drank while watching game 6, or don't change my seating position after the two 5 on 3's because the Wings are doing awesome and I don't want to change anything. I let out the biggest holler when Huds scored that first goal. I started the game without the sound thru the stereo and the WIngs were doing great. Later I turned on the system and the WIngs started giving up goals, so I turned it back off and just had the TV sound on (WTF?, I'm an idiot!). Yeah, it was draining.

Hiller: "Oh crap, how'd it get there!" Getzlaf: "Son of a *****!" Cleary: "Thats right, and you can kiss my a$$!"

The Wings are so loaded, so stacked with players, they can't even make a regular roster spot for a guy that scores the openning goal of Game 7 Semi Finals. The guy that is too small and who's game is too limited by many Wings fans standards, scores the second goal. The guy that is probably voted most likely to be the whipping boy since Robert "Lazy & He Sucks" Lang was traded, scores the third goal. The guy who was written off by a few other teams and has spent quality time on more lines than any one else, turns into the ultimate role player, the utility guy, scores the 4th and game winning goal. Our top guys get stuck muckin' it up in major battles with their top guys, duking it out so closely there's not any sign of daylight between them. So our depth guys step up and take over, and score the goals that win the game. Here's to Helm. Here's to Huds. Big Cheers to Sammy. And Here's to Dan Cleary. And you can't forget Jonathan Ericcson, wow. What a series. Edit: Oh yeah, and Fill a pooh la, holy shnickes he made some incredible plays tonite (on Sammy's goal) and in the entire series. Hell yeah.

Filp's amazing play at the blue that gained the zone for Detroit to start the play.

I shudda used quotation marks while paraphrasing everything Ferraro said. What you quoted was included. (Not that its gospel, I'm just clarifying) Feeraro's fun to listen to, but you can tell that he sometimes feals like he's got to have an answer for every question he's aksed wether he actually has one or not. WHile I haven't seen Pavel's shot count, i feal he was indeed blanketed by the Ducks but managed pretty well. I guess for the most part, i agree with Ferraro. Of course, I watched at least half the series on my F'ing laptop, and its hard to tell exactly who's who half the time with some of the crappy internet feeds.

Heard Ray Ferraro on the Team 1040 today. He said Datsyuk has been awesome. He has had some shifts where he just dominated the defense. He's winning the races to the puck, he's going into the corner battles, muckin it up, and coming out with the puck. He is playing keep away with the puck. He's hitting guys. He's takin hits and not getting knocked off the puck. He's standing toe to toe with Chris Pronger. He is not getting shutdown by Marchant or Neidermeyer. The one who is shutting down Pavel Datsyuk is Jonas Hiller. And he gets paid to put pucks in the net and he's not doing it. I'm thinking he feals really, really fortunate that the Red Wings won that series, and he can now redeem himself (point wise) in the next two series. This is going to be fun.

Over the years i've known college and pro football players and basketball players and hockey players. The hockey players are by far the most appreciative of their place in society, and their good fortune. They are greatful to be where they are and seem to have a better understanding of the world around them. While it has a lot to do with respecting the traditions and history of hockey, I think it also has something to do with hockey being a bit of a background sport at the school age levels. A high school kid that is a big hockey stud will not get near the attention that the big football or basketball stud will. And thats a good thing. The few retired NHLers that i know are all anxious to "give back" and they do all the time.

I see that could be a thought, yes. However, this series will be wide open, trading rushes, with a few 5-3 scores, and even a 6-4 score. I just can't see the Hawks trying to play clamp down with their personel. But I've been known to wrong once or twice before. As far as Qville and Bowman, the Team 1040 out of Vancouver was in Chicago for that series and Marjanovich was asked by a Canuck fan listenner how much of an advantage was it having Bowman upstairs. Marjanovich said "little to none. I'll I'm gonna say is that I have it on good authority from an insider that there is little to no dialogue between the two. Thats all i'm allowed to say."

I saw him pat Ozzie on the chest, too.

You're a classy Dude, DG. WHAttA series. OMG. I've NEVER been that nervous before. I was thinkng that the winner deserves the Stanley Cup right then and there!
-
Bravo. That about covers it. Nothing else really needs to be said. Everything else is just minutiae.

Although your "join date" of May '09 makes you a little suspect, and you're spot "off" on Neids elbow not being intentional and Hossa turtling, I have to agree with the gist and spirit of your post. Scrum on, boys, scrum on.
-
I was thinking that too. Many juicy rebounds but no one there to capitalize. Therefore, the media says Hiller is back. If the Wings would have been there to "one-time" just two of those rebounds in, then Hiller has never been the same since getting bounced in game 5. Lets face it, hockey has a lot of randomness to it.

Yeah, that was kinda obvious I thought, even to the worst of a Homer fan, but I guess I was mistaken. Wiznewski was out of commission before Holmer even got close to him. ANd Holmstrom takes more f***in s*** (because they can't get him to leave his post infront of the crease) than any single player in the league, how 'bout a call once every couple of seasons, thats all I ask.
-
Holy s***! TSN (I think that was the feed I ended up watching with Ray Ferraro) failed to show the elbow. This is the first I've seen of it. I couldn't really see what erupted between Dats and Neidermeyer. I saw in the beginning that Dats wrapped him up during the Getzlaf/Hossa scrum, then the camera went away for a second and when it came back those two were throwing down.

In the crease...outta the crease...in the crease...outta the crease.

Chicago Columnist: Blackhawks should want no part of Wings
T.Low replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
The villainous Wings have won four Cups going back to 1997. The Hawks have won only three Cups in their history. In. Their. History. Since the diabolic Wings started winning their four Cups again 12 years ago, the Hawks have won only two playoff series -- series, not Cups, do you hear me? -- and both of them came in the last month. The Wings are a playoff-savvy team. The Hawks need a treat parent. Good stuff.
