    Datsyuk a Hart Finalist

The Hart Memorial trophy is awarded to the player deemed most valueable to his team. While yes, Pavs is an awesome player and its great that he got nominated top three, Ovie is obviously more valueable to his team than Pavs is to Detroit. You take Pavs off the Wings for a few games and they will do ok. You take Ovie off the Caps for a few games and they got nothing. The trophy should be for best all round player, but technically, its not.

    Red Wings vs ?

Proof of Karma; you just jinxed Brodeur and he just gave away game 7 in 90 seconds flat.

Posted this on the Sharks forum

I'm suprised at how sensitive and thin skinned a lot of people are in their replies. Fans are spouting off about how their team is great and our team sucks. Well, if they can dish it out, then they need to eat it too when its their turn. ANd its not our fault that its the Sharks fans turn again! He was teasing them because their hockey team lost, not because their father committed suicide. Not that big of a deal. Its humorous, clever, and yeah, has some sting to it. Nicely done.

    Pick 2 Players.

Players: Dion Phanuef and Sean Avery. Coach: Elisha Cuthbert OK, actually I was going to pick the same ones that Marcus did, but now I can't remember who they were.

Get Rid of the Extra Point for OT/SO Losses

Here's how we do it in the T.LowHL. Commissioner T.Lowman awards the following point structure: 2 points for a win. 0 points for tie, OTL, SOL. You need to win the game to get any points. I tie just means that you saved your ass for the moment.

3/30 GDT: San Jose at Calgary

Personally. I'd like to welcome the Shark fans to LGW. I think its just as much fun to debate fans of other teams as it is fans of the same team. It doesn't have to get goofey with immature homerisms. Duck Guy is a good contributor here, so why not other team's fans. Good to get another perspective. The Sharks are obvious a team to be reckoned with. Personally, I'd like to see Detroit beat Anaheim, Vancouver, then SJ, then Boston. I want them to go all out and beat the best, every step of the way. IF however, SJ beats Detroit, they'd better have the decency to beat the East for the Cup, or you Shark fans can all just piss off ! Welcome Shark fans.

    Rick Nash destroyed

What category are you? LevelHeaded Guy would never say that the hit destroyed someone that got up and scored later in the same game, so obviously not a #3. All they did was learn that you need to put a lot more than just a good hit on Nash to shut him down. I was good with both hits. And agree with Good Observation Guy that posted earlier saying that Nash tried to hit Oshie on the second one but was totally off balance and lost on that one too. And the announcers, holy crap, pathetically accurate example of homerism. And the Blues haven't been the same since Garth Butcher left.

Burrows + Semin = Next Sissy Fight?

Dude, its one thing to be in a street fight and grab a handle full of hair with the left, and rap away with the right. Thats not at all the way it went down. Burroughs had the opportunity to hit with the right hand but instead chose to pull hair with that hand. Freaky. I would be really embarrassed if my team mate did that. Hopefully, he wouldn't be my linemate.

The road to success is always under construction.

Exactly. Like last year when the Wings stuck with Hasek while he was having trouble instead of replacing him with OSgood during the playoffs.

    How is datryuk never hurt?

Its the simple fact that you misspelled his name in the title that will keep the spell of the jinx from taking hold. Its searching but it cannot find any Datryuk worthy of such a jinx. I think we are safe.

Wins, last season to this season.

You say they took off after 40 this season compared to last season. Wasn't theat when the Red Griffens took over during so many injuries last year and they went 1-10 or something?

    The curse of the Ex-Wing

No doubt about it. Can you imagine what kind of a career J.Mac will have if he coupld play that way the vast majority of the time? He was awesome. Its definitely a case of former Red Wing players getting up for a game against the Wings.

    STANDINGS: Rangers in 1st

How late into the season were the Rangers still in 1st? Seems they went from 1st to 7th in record time. Ottawa and Buffalo were so hot a couple of seasons ago, now they probably won't make the playoffs. Sheesh. Montreal? Ouch. Dallas? I'm sure they golf most of the year down there anyway so they really have nothing to look forward to. Ryan Smith enjoying his time in Colorado? Can you for a second imagine the Colorado Detroit rivalry a few years back, then to have Detroit in last place now with Colorado in first! I'd be sick to my stomache. Canuck games are like a box of chocolates. They're hot now, but who knows? No wonder Hossa wanted to come to Detroit. The Wings have basically been 7-2-1 in every ten games. For years!. Man, are we lucky. STANDINGS: Rangers in 1st

It makes perfect sense to me! I agree with the original poster , its amazing to just look at how much the standings can change in a relatively short time span. The Rangers got out of the gate with a fury and were in first place for a relatively long time. Hell, at New Years they were first in the division. Now look at them. 7th in the conference. Then take the wider time frame of a couple of seasons and look how much the standings have changed. Some teams looked to be on an upsing (Montreal, Buffalo) but then not to be. Look at how good Dallas was last year, and then this season...not so good. But Detroit has remained consistant. Thats all I'm saying...oops, I mean the original poster was saying. Oh fuggit, here's a link. http://www.wvec.com/cams/eagle.html

    Which NHL player are you?

Good to know. After 17 years in the NHL, I'll be ordering that s*** right to the bench! And if you guys can gimme enough time on the PK, I'll order it to the penalty box, too. - Dallas Drake

The misconception that Datsyuk and Zetterberg are equal

Interesting you should make that observation; I've been thinking that both Z and D are 2nd to T.Low. But I didn't want to hijack the thread.

I'ma Big Mac fan... , you know what I mean. But when he skates he looks like Yzerman did while he was injured and playing on one leg. He just looks old and broken down. Is it just me?

    Which NHL player are you?

Crap. You probably don't need a 3rd baseman, do you? I get told all the time that I look like Mike Lowell. Hmm. I guess I gotta think about this a while...gotta come up with some body... Until then, are you guys playing in Florida soon so I can come watch while I'm at spring training? Apparently, I know all the best golf courses. Truth be told, I was always more effective on the football field as a tailback, strong safety. On the ice, I do hit like a football player, and luv to scrum and dig for pucks, have great speed but can't always finish. Hmm Dallas Drake maybe. Glory Days:
