The last guy that said that to me was on drugs.

Who's randy? Who's drew? Who's jamie baker? Who's that dude in your avatar?

Can you post the vid?

Cleary was already committed to the hit and then JT turned his back, there is no way he could have stopped or let up at that point. Not a homer, just an observation.

As the Orignal Poster I gotta thank you guys for some really good comments, on both sides of the issues. Of course i like the ones that agree with my sentiment, and think the ones that don't agree are idiots , uh, I mean...uhm... hey, thanks for the great comments.

Edited OP to include clarifier: Edit: Want to make it claer that it looks to me like Thontron turned his back on Cleary almost taunting him as if to say "You'd better not hit me from behind!". And, in the time it took Thornton to turn his back, he could have just taken half a stride to get out of Cleary's path altogether.

From the sounds of her comments, she must be the daughter of the Sharks' color commentator (that bald whatsisname dude) that I had to endure on yayhoo sports last night. He is a whiney biased f***, and that must be where she gets it from. I really feal like Mickey is as objective as can be when it comes to calls and suspect goals etc. How many times have you heard Mickey say things like " Campbell; 2 minutes for playing hockey" acknowledging the bad call agaisnt Chicago or something.

story of my life... I never liked soccer anyway

No doubt about it. People got to realize that while Detroit has gone out and pusued some pretty good guys over the years, Marian Hossa pursued Detroit! Not that this is a Pronger vs Hossa thread, just agreeing with MrSandMan.

OMG these announcers are going to kill me!

"Anyone been to a game in Nashville ?" I'm pretty sure somebody must have been, I think I saw a couple guys in the seats when the Wings played there on TV. Thank you, thank you, I'm here all week, try the veal, its great.
-
eva, you have this response on file and simply cut and paste it in any thread bringin up Feds which works out to about once a week, don't you?!! Cmon, fess up, Dude! (Ohhh, time for the "Feds didn't leave for the money" reply, cut & paste, cut & paste, quickly!)

Stats are stats... interpret them as you may. Not making a big deal about it, just an interesting observation at this point in the season. Living in Vancouver's back yard, I always hear about Luongo as the best goalie in the world. Well, for what its worth, Ty Conklin's stats are neck and neck with Luongo's. Even has one more shut out having played two less games. http://www.nhl.com/ice/app?component=compl...;service=direct

I was going to say 18,750 times more...but I get your point. You cannot make this comparison, it is not fair at all. The only reason they have similar games played is because Luongo was injured for almost half the season. Luongo's games played are night in night out. Conklin gets the benefit of being able to rest and prepare for each and every games he plays. Not all goalies are cut out to start basically every game. I agree that the comparison is not fair, but for the opposite reason. Any goalie would rather play night in and night out rather than playing a game then sitting for a couple of weeks and then finally playing another game. Advantage: Luongo.

Not too bad, nice for Feds. I've always liked Fedorov ( i had the" Feds vs Dats" thread). Maybe in another thread, somebody with better analytical talent than me, and more time on there hands, please extrapolate the years gone by in Detroit IF Sergie Fedorov never would have left. What line would he be playing on wioth whom now and who would not be here because he would be instead? Group input welcome of course. Surely someone must has some software that we could plug Feds into and it could tell us what would have happenned. (Or is the trade feature on NHL '09 the closest thing to knowing?) LGW Feds Dislcaimer: His years here were great, but now that he's gone, I do like the team we have today very much, without him. Wish him well, but do not need him back.

Yeah, I heard that on the Ducks forum his name is "Wings Guy"!

Indeed. Although I may have used f***tard instead of Asshat, but very well said nonetheless.

CL is at the top of my Hate list, yes. But that was not a turtle. Can't believe I waded thru 5 pages to just say that.

Nice thread. There are some great quotes in there: " I can't be the only one who remembers it took over 130 minutes of hockey for the Penguins to score a goal in the Finals?" The playoffs are going to be a battle. I need some government bailout money so I can go buy a new flatscreen!

Has to be a better situation than Atlanta. He's worked in a lot of cool cities over his career. Hey El Capitan, nice 60 Series. Any links to more pics of it? Are you on http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/ ? No, I'm not a stalker, just a huge fan of the Red Wings and of overlanding. You can also find me here, usually, more so than ExPo: http://www.northwestoverlandsociety.org/

While watching HNIC with the Pens and the Leafs, i had a little revelation. I actually kinda feal bad for the guy. If all that hype was about T.Low, hell, I'd be sick of me! The guy doesn't ask for all that hype. Don't get me wrong; I hope they don't make the playoffs this year. but not because of Sidney Crosby. But because of the way the NHL hypes Sidney Crosby. He probably just wishes he could play hockey without the frikin camera lingering on him for half of "O Canada" every game. The commercials are getting ridiculous, especially in Canada. But they're not his idea. Imagine for a moment Crosby in a Wings jeresy, say on a line with Datsyuk and Holmstrom. Or on the 2nd line setting up Z and Franzen. He doesn't even get an "A" because Datsyuk and Zetterberg have already earned them. He just plays hockey as one of the Wings, not as Mr. Hockey Next One, or young Captain of the Penguins. He wouldn't cry to the refs, or get interviewed 24/7. We'd luv him. He's tenacious as hell on the ice, there's no question about that. OK, I don't feal that bad for him. But its not his fault that he's getting hyped more than Barack Obama. Seriously.

Favorite of all time: Garth Butcher Most hated: Tootoo.

I hope the Wings are able to get Hossa signed. Franzen is great, but Hossa has the natural abilities to take over as Captain after Lidstrom leaves. As great as Datsyuk and Zetterberg are, Hossa has more of a determined presence about his personality. And off ice, I think more so than those two. Yeah, if he stays with the Wings, I can see Hossa having worked his way into wearing the C by then.

Apparently 57 states is a must if you want to claim that 500million American are losing their jobs every month.
