Franzen is more at the level just below Hossa/Zettterberg, but definitelu over and above Huds/Filp/Samms. A bit of a Tweener. Huds is more of a sniper.

The Wings are a lot more fun to watch than the other teams because of their puck possession style, their stretch passes from D, their general high skill level, their intense back checking, and their original six history.

HEY NMU fans! Anyone know why Matt Butcher has been out of the Wildcat's line up for so long? Yes, that worked out real well for Kariya. That is exctly what Sundin is refering to in Mindfly's post when answering the question about taking less money in order to win the Cup. While that may be your plan, there are a lot of other players in the leauge with different plans than you winning the Cup even thought you took a pay cut to do it. Taking a pay cut only gaurantees that you will make less money, not win the Cup.

I think my strategy (simplified) in the cap era would be to spend $ on an awesome top six, let the bottom six be young/energetic interns willing to eat the league minimuns for a few seasons for a shot at the top six or get traded or something. In other words, if there is no room for Sam and Huds when their contracts are up, well, shoot, that sucks but thats the math. But i'm just a suddenly starving outside sales rep for construction supplies in the new world market, WTF do i know about capology in the new NHL. For real.

I agree sort of, but I disagree sort of, It frikin cracks me up, no more no less. I don't make too much of the incident except that he hit a guy in dillies with his gloves on, its a dorky looking move and it cracked me up. I would'nt care if it were Yzerman that did it, I'd be laughing cause its a dorky move. (Well, maybe thats a bad example cause Yzerman would never do somehting that stupid, but Shannahan might. ) If it were a guy on my team that did that, I'd be laughing my ass off at him later in the lockerroom drinking beer, thats for frikin sure. And it would get brought up the next game, and the next game, and a couple years down the road, we'd be sitting around the lockerroom talking about this really good player on our team, and someone would say, "wasn't he the guy that was punching that dude in the balls from behind with his gloves still on?" and we'd start laughing our asses off all over again.

Thats all that can really be said about it. He was frikin punchin him in the back of the danglers, man, what the hell was that? It would be reeeeaaal sweet...unless they beat Anaheim in the first round, then they would have so much confidence they might be unstoppable. That Kyle Wellwood is a sneaky little bastard. Seems he is out to lunch for most of the game, then all the sudden you lost track of him and all the attention will be on big Mats and the Sycling Sundeen Sisters, then Wellfed comes out of no where and pops one into the net from 3 ft out. Be aware people, be very aware of the Canuckleheads from here on out.

Good money says Vancouver wins their division, so they will probably face Calgary, Chicago, or Anaheim in the first round, Anaheim, Chicago or San Jose in the 2nd. With the Sundeen sisters and a trade deadline acquisition on one line, Sundin, Dimetra, Wellfed on another, and Luongo in net, they could get real hot. We could face Anaheim or Chicago in the first round.

It really looks like the Wings are up for this game the way everyone else gets up for the Wings. They look like they have something to prove tonite against the Sharks. There's lots of hockey left, lets hope they have the killer instinct and don't let the Sharks back in it.
