Did he? It's probably just me but Subban reminds me of Avery. Lots of talent, Subban obviously more then Avery, but both guys to selfish to realize how good they could be. -

I like Ehrhoff but if we're going to spend on a top defenceman, we also better get a top forward or the assets spent on Ehrhoff would be waisted. Well maybe not totally waisted but wouldn't bring the Wings to where they want to be. -

I recognize the difference, but the numbers that Chara and Pronger put up offensively are much more then just chipping in. The offensive defenceman has changed, there won't be a pure offensive defenseman anymore; teams put too much of a premium on defense. Just look at Kronwall, he came up as a pure offensive d man, but has evolved into more of a defensive role. My argument is that teams put an emphasis on defense which has changed the traditional offensive defenceman. -

You can't seriously be trying to tell me that Pronger and Chara don't create offense? Come on. Anyway, as far as Myers goes maybe I don't watch him enough but as a fall back from the big boys I think he would be an upgrade. -

Chara is not as big of an offensive force anymore because they inexplicably put him in front of the net and not blasting shots from the point on the PP. Whose bright idea was that? Hated the guy but damn was Pronger awesome, shame what happened to him he still had a few good years left. -

Not sure what your point is since Chara and Pronger are offensive D-man that play good defense. Myers is also an offensive d-man he's just not as good defensively. Bad contract but still only 24. -

I don't care if we trade Quincey for a bag of Doritos. Mmmmm nacho cheese.... But I digress, you make Myers sound like the second coming of Lebda. He's a good not great player but he's certainly not as horrible as you make him seem. Yeah, he's been bad lately, but so was Cleary before Holland signed him. I think he would do great in the Wings environment. Erhoff and Edler would be preferable but would cost an arm and a leg, and if I'm overpaying I'd rather get a scorer. -

I think where there is a disconnect is classifying Myers as a defensive defenceman. To me he is much more of an offensive guy. Kinda like mike Green but not as good. -

All valid points, but sometimes a change of scenery will do wonders for a player. Tough to get excited playing for the Sabres night in and night out. Plus with his contract maybe just maybe we wouldn't have to over pay. -
