Fixes the scoring on the back end, not the defense. Have to still get another defenseman and a scorer. -
6 mil too much, short deal isn't bad though. Might be the lone move for the Wings today.

Or maybe after all these years GM's have finally realized that they have the whole offseason ahead of them, and there is no need to rush into bad contracts on the first day. That of course assumes that GM's have become rational. Which I wouldn't bet on.
