I've never been a Burke fan. Yeah he won a cup with the Ducks but he also put Anaheim in a bad cap situation and then hightailed it to Toronto where he made countless mistakes and now he moves to Calgary to run another franchise into the ground. I might be in the minority but I never understood the fuss over Burke's skills as a GM. Props to Ryan for Calling Burke out on his BS. We at LGW have seen plenty of Ryan over the years and I'm sure most of us can agree that he doesn't lack intensity. Maybe there's some personal animosity between Burke and Ryan while they were in Anaheim.

The fact that Ryan is not on the team is a travesty. He was money 4 years ago.

Disappointing loss but a great game. Happy New Year guys I'm going back to celebrating.

Barabbas16, Dabura said it perfectly us getting close and losing is like Lucy with the football from Charlie Brown. And yes on some level I would have preferred us tanking the game because with the way this team is built letting a game where we score 4 goals get away is unacceptable. It'll probably be another 10 games before they score 4 goals again, so yeah I would have preferred to not waste a 4 goal game.

I by no means want to bench him for the season but I have no problem admitting how bad he has played. Just because I'm a fan doesn't mean I'm going to bury my head in the sand. Anyway, that's my perspective everybody is entitled to their own.

I actually think scoring 4 goals made the loss worse.

What happens when you put together a bad year from Jimmy Howard and missing time with an injury? You get the abomination we all had the privilege of watching tonight.

Before the season started I though Jimmy was a lock to make the team. Yeah, he's had a bad year but not having good team defense made protecting the net a much bigger chore.

Watching this years games it feels like the Wings should occupy 8 of the 10 spots.

No one that had the puck knew what to do with it, they are like deer in the headlights tonight.

They should allow checking in the women's game.

The scene towards the end with Kadri looked like HBO was filming either a GQ ad or another installment of the Fast and the Furious series. Do we really need to see a wide angle of Kadri driving his car? Favorite scene was Babs kicking the cameras out of the locker room. And during the Crosby and Phaneuf in game conversation Phaneuf sounded like a whiney 8 year old. Overall a good episode though watching the Wings suck it up again was painful.

Let me clarify I didn't mean this year, I meant when it's his time to play in Detroit.

He looks awesome but too bad that with our cap issues he'll probably turn into the next Nyquist.

I don't hate the CBC guys but man were they boring tonight made me miss Pierre.

Kessel has scoring ability but man was he non existent tonight, so nonexistent that I think I heard his name mentioned once.

Because of the win the good definitely outweighed the bad. But to completely discount the bad is also a mistake.

Most dominant line of the night? Will probably be broken up next game which sucks.

We won a shootout! I'm gonna go outside and see if there are any pigs flying. But seriously I'm so used to Pav not scoring in the shootout this year that I had a delayed reaction thinking he missed.

Just a joke granted not the funniest but still a joke. Wasn't meant to disparage anyone. And what's with the double standard we can all harp on Franzen for playing like a girl but no one can make a joke about this?
