It's tough to get over the frustration after a game like this when we play well and still lose, especially when these type games keep piling up. Maybe it's like they say in baseball that broken bat hits and line drive outs even themselves out at the end of the year, let's hope that these losses even themselves out and we start winning games that we shouldn't as well as games that we should.

I'm with you the concern with this team has been there all year, but i'm more excited about this game then any game so far this season. I expect a good game since they do tend to play up to the competition. But, yeah the worry is there that it might be another dud especially with all the injuries.

I think that's the life of a fan. We as fans are constantly worried about something even when there's nothing to worry about.

I didn't have one with a Red Wings hat but I think it still fits.

Watching the Tampa game last night it struck me that with the the Wings moving out East I find myself really missing the rivalries we have built up in the Western Conference over the years. I miss the Chicago games and the animosity I had built up towards Kane over the years or the games vs Anaheim and how much I wanted the Wings to pound the smirk of Getzlaf's face. Really the only team in the East that I have genuine hatred for is Pittsburgh. Now I know it took years for the Wings to create rivalries in the West and in due time rivalries in the East will be created as well but for the time being I miss the desire I had for the Wings to lay a pounding on certain teams out West. I still look forward to playing games against Montreal, Toronto, or Boston because of the history of those Franchises I just don't yet want to beat them as much as I did Chicago. On the flip side the games still mean the same and the wins are just as sweet as before, but I just don't get as excited to watch the Wings play the Lightening as I did when we played the Preds. That being said I look forward to building rivalries in the east but in the meantime I will miss the West.

Wasn't targeting him, its just that we had to suffer through his play last year and I just don't want to do it again. When Z went down Glendening was a better choice and yet Emmerton still got the call over him. As far as the obvious guys I get your point but they have been beaten on enough no point to keep harping on them.

All I can say is good, the love affair with Emmerton has to end.

One of these days we'll win a shootout and it will be glorious, the skies will open up and god will smile down on us.

I remember a couple weeks ago after a shootout loss, Babs talked about spending time at end of practice for shoot outs. Regardless they completely froze out there.

They do practice, but apparently it's a waste of time.

This has got to be rock bottom for shoot outs, 5 of 6 shooters did the exact same thing and they all did it badly, not to mention Bert completely losing the puck. I want to find the guy that invented shoot outs and punch him in the balls.

He might be hurt and if he was playing better he might play through it but with him struggling it makes sense to shut him down.

And by injured they mean, we won't play him until he gets over his struggles.

When facing a bad team you have to supply all the intensity since the other team can't, and I'm not sure the Wings have that ability. When being the better team you have to be able to motivate yourself to compete against weaker teams, and not just wait for the pushback to start playing. I think this falls into the letdown game category that a lot of sports teams have a tough time with not just the Wings.

Unfortunately it was easy.

I know Bert and Pav have struggled in the SO, but come on you have to give them the chance to win the game. I've been supportive of Babs but what he did today was just moronic.

The lock out was a joke to begin with, but adding expansion teams will dilute the talent pool and create financial problems in the future. Maybe before considering expansion the NHL should consider relocating some of their other teams, the Panthers come to mind. What NHL owners did last year with the lock out was nothing more than a ploy to cut salaries, which will again go up and will cause owners to ***** and moan until the next CBA. I really believe that the players association should have called the Owners on their BS and held out and not signed the new CBA mid-season and instead canceled the entire season and let the owners take the blame and bad publicity.

Ok, so I guess within the next 5 years we should be approaching the 100 million dollar mark. Which begs the question what was the point of the Lock Out if the salary cap keeps going up.

Assuming that Gus continues his strong play, and even though I'm still a big fan of Howard, I would argue that the best way for the Wings to Upgrade in the off-season would be to trade Jimmy for a top D or a big scorer to pair with Datsyuk.
