Serious question, can Weiss be bought out after the year? Or does the buyout apply only to players under contract prior to the lockout?

I have this sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach that after locking up Ericsson for 4 or 5 years whatever it's going to be that Holland is going to try and resign Quincey next. With free agent contracts going up and the Wings not having a ton of cap space, I can just picture Holland saying that Quiney is the best player that we could get for the amount of cap space we had. Does anyone else have the same fear?

He found it in the same place Weiss lost his, I'm guessing in the bathroom.

While Sammy might be slightly better, I've always thought Tootoo's hockey skills where underrated. It seems he has been pigeonholed as a fighter but I've always wondered if he had the chance would he be able to score consistently.

Now I know why Datsyuk has a concussion, his brain was transplanted into Helm.

They better win, but frankly I'm looking past this game to Sunday where we better retaliate for the blatant elbow to Datsyuk.

Great game! They looked like a completely different team out there. I wish they would get there collective heads out of their asses and play like this a little more often. Oh, and did I mention? Great game!

Yes the offense has struggled and that's putting it mildly but I gotta blame the D. My reasoning behind this is: 1. Inability to move the puck out of defensive zone quickly. 2. Too many turnovers on outlet passes. 3. Missed coverage, which leaves opposing players in front of net alone far too often. 4. Not blocking shots but blocking goalies vision. 5. Not getting shots through opposing players on offense. 6. Pinching unnecessarily. Howard also bares a lot of the blame for letting soft goals in, but I blame the defense more.

2 years too many but other than that, I like the deal.

I gotta disagree, the distinction of the worst player on the team,IMHO, has to go to Samuelsson. Quincey plays a lot of minutes, and yes he makes plenty of mistakes but every once in awhile he makes a good play. Samuelsson on the other hand barely plays, rarely makes a good play, and never hits the net. Also taking into account that he makes 3 million and kills the teams cap flexibility. I nominate him for worst player on this team.

There has been a lot of negativity on LGW surrounding the Wings lately, so with Thanksgiving right around the corner I thought we could all post some things we are thankful for as in regards to the Detroit Red wings Franchise. I'll Start off with one and leave the rest up to you. I'm thankful for the team's move to the Eastern Conference or we would be struggling to keep the playoff streak alive. What are you guys Thankful for?

With Pavel out this team looks even more pedestrian. If he doesn't return soon, we will be in serious trouble.

How was that not a blatant hit do the head. Shanny should make a video and try to explain how Cowen was not targeting the head. The leagues inconsistency is so frustrating.

I know we are all pissed about tonights loss but you can't blame a guy for the puck hitting him.

Its frustrating since most of our loses have been winnable lets hope some of these games will even out going forward.

As much as I would love to blame Quincy for every loss, we had plenty of problems tonight. Quincey's double minor was just the icing on the cake.

Howard seems to be trying to compensate for a bad streak by being overly aggressive. He's been going out way to far and seems to be in quick sand when trying to get back in position.

Holland should send Hakan Andersson to scout Thor!

I believe since hockey doesn't get the national coverage other sports get, the referee call's aren't as heavily scrutinized and because of that the league isn't forced to make any changes. Either way the refs have been bad since the lockout, I'm kinda used to it.
