Was it slander? In a warped way I guess,but he's not reporting it as fact. I just don't get what there is to gain from suing the guy? He's probably not wealthy (I'm assuming), all this will do is keep the story alive. And at some point will look like the rich attacking the poor. If they are that hell bent on suing,maybe they should sue Twitter for allowing the tweet. Go after deeper pockets.

I agree on the stupid twitter tracker. I wish cnn and other news and sports channels would get rid of them too.But come on that tweet wasn't even that offensive, there is way worse crap floating around online. The only reason it got any play was because TSN screwed the pooch. Plus the team blows and the Toronto media is bored. They have a right to sue TSN,and any media outlet for a libelous story. That tweet however was not bad enough to get sued for.

Lets get something straight the only reason this is an issue is because somebody over at TSN failed to properly check the tweets that were posted. There are way worse things posted online that don't get the attention they deserve(serious things), and yet we're talking about a joke tweet-that wasn't that funny to begin with. This guy doesn't belong to any affiliation, and he wasn't reporting some fake story to get attention-a la the National Enquirer. There are no victims in this, in fact in my opinion the only victim was the poor slob at TSN who probably got canned because he missed the tweet.

This has been blown completely out of proportion. Sure what TSN did was embarrassing, but Celebs demanding money from a guy posting a joke online is just plane stupid. I just hope Cleary never sees the stuff written about him on here. The Phanuef , Lupul, and Cuthbert trio are now drawing even more attention to it, by being so bent out of shape over it. Plus you know how they say "where there's smoke there's fire," and these three are blowing a lot of smoke.

I agree that they played well together, but Helm struggles to score and is not a top line guy. Remember when Eaves scored all those goals? It was nice while it lasted, but it ended.
