You know I never got the charging rule, seems like it's something that could be called on a lot of hits.
-
You know if it happened after only big hits I wouldn't have that much of a problem with it but as it stands now it happens after every kind of hit.
-
Benches clearing brawl wasn't meant as a literal term. Whether we see it in HD or not doesn't matter as a lot of these line fights originate after any kind of hit- be it clean or dirty. I'm all for protecting your teammates but not after every single hit. Poor Girardi is lying on the ice by himself and instead of helping their teammate, the players are having a pissing contest in the corner. Fighting absolutely has a place in the game but I'm sick of seeing it after every single play, it renders it meaningless.

The league needs a "conscious uncoupling" from uncle Gary.

It was a clean hit from the blindside. That hit was maybe one Malkin should have eased up on out of respect for a fellow player, but it was clean. The fight after is ******* embarrassing, do we really have to have bench clearing brawls after every hard hit? This bulls*** is the driving force behind the league trying to get rid of hitting and fighting.

Oh boy, did you come to the wrong place for advice. Having said that here is my two cents. If you don't wanna get shutout of the bedroom, I suggest you root for the Hawks tonight. Then go back to rooting for the Wings tomorrow, the Wings players are all men they'll understand.

Awful, my thoughts and prayers to his friends and family. -
I can just see it now. Cottonelle Toilet Paper: The proud sponsor of the Detroit Red Wings.

Got a new puppy last week, so I haven't been able to watch a game from start to finish. But I might actually get a chance watch this game. So how about a win?! LGW! -
Missed game, anyone have a link to hit.

In this pic he looks like Aaron Taylor Johnson--The guy that played kick-ass.

In keeping with the league mandate, I'm guessing 1 goal will be taken away, a phantom penalty will be called, and TV's all over Detroit will pay the consequences. -
The phantom DL/IR is an often used tool in most major sports, however in Weiss' case I believe he's actually hurt.

Cute, but no. Masha is Mariya.

I'm Russian so I'm going to say it like this, Pavel is Russian its not a translation into English from Pasha. Pasha is just another way of saying Pavel, lengthwise it's the same, but Pavel and Pasha are the same name also. It's like Sam and Sammy, Sammy isn't short for Sam, but a softer way of saying Sam.
-
Not that i care about the great Nickname war of 2014 that's happening right now, but most of these are not technically nicknames- just a way of shortening a players name. Mule is a nickname, so is Tinky Winky, but Pasha is just short for Pavel. I think the modern athletes have gotten lazy with their nickname giving, now everyone just puts a Y or S at the end of a persons name and bang you have an instant nickname. A nickname isn't instant oatmeal, it should have some real thought or reason behind it.

Come on guys does it really matter if we call him Nesty, Nestrasil, or you son of a ***** stop turning the puck over, the point is... Actually I don't think there really is a point.

The Wings had a hell of a game, the checking was especially awesome to see- If only they could bring that same level of intensity to every game.
-
Best and most enjoyable game of the year too bad they can't all be like that.

You clear the roster, you might get a decent draft pick, and you still save some cap space. It's not about saving money it's about starting anew. But to be clear I'm not advocating trading him, I'm just saying it could have been more of an option.

You haven't tried piss until you've tried Keystone. In fact I think that's their slogan.
-
Was it upped to 50% with the new CBA? I thought it was less. In any case 50% still puts a limit on something that IMHO should not have one. If teams are willing to take the cap hit to trade a player, the league shouldn't care.
-
Weiss is the type of player that is hurt by the current CBA's limitation on the amount of salary a team can eat when trading a player. Weiss is a perfect example of a player that might flourish on another team, but is relegated to the bench or the minors because no other team will take his contract. If the league allowed trades like in baseball, where the Wings could eat a chunk of Weiss' salary in order to facilitate a trade, both the player and the organization would be able to get a fresh start.

Generally speaking I agree with you. However in this case I think his conditioning stint has more to do with him sitting the past several weeks, and not as much with his injury.
