I usually don't put much stock into preseason games be it baseball or hockey. Most of the guys knew they were going to make the team and probably took it easy, and the young guys probably didn't feel like they had a wing and a prayer of making they team anyway.

To be honest there's something creepy about your comment... It made me uncomfortable.

And it begins again, I can't stand to watch Abby on the top line.

I'd be interested to see what Weiss can provide when healthy. On the other hand I've seen what Andersson can provide when he's healthy and I'm not all that excited.

With his comments of late it sounds as though Babs is becoming more and more frustrated with Holland.

It's unfortunate how predictable this team has become.

Quincey better hope Babs resigns, cause I don't see another coach being as loyal to Kyle as Babs has been.

I don't mind him staying on long term, I don't think there are many coaches who could of gotten more out of this team the past 2 years than what Babs got.

You completely missed my point. It wasn't that upgrading toughness is more important than skill, it also wasn't that if we upgrade toughness it would somehow solve all our problems. My point was that-- as a team you go for the upgrade that's available. Kinda like if you're struggling on D and no D upgrade is available you upgrade the offense. Is skill preferable to physical toughness? Absolutely. I just don't agree that if skill isn't available you should sit on your hands and do nothing. Kinda like what Kenny did this offseason, or the previous one, or the one before that.

The team lacks physical/mental toughness as well as has a dearth of skill. But I believe that you have to upgrade with what's available to you. If skill is available than you upgrade skill. If toughness is available then toughness should be upgrade, hell if there is a way to upgrade both than by all means do both.

Yeah, I guess you're right it's tough to be a Leafs fan and an optimist at the same time. Although to me--and I could be wrong here-- but to me it always seems like Leafs nation jumps all over their team at the first sign of trouble. That's a tough way to be a fan, which makes me happy to root for the Wings.

Having not spent any time on Leafs fan sites, I don't have an answer to this- but maybe you do. Would you consider the Leafs fan base brutally honest or overly pessimistic?

If he grows several inches (not sure where you got 5-7 from) that would put him in Rafalski category. Either way he's so far away from the NHL it doesn't really matter.

I grew 3 inches between 20 and 25, It all depends on genetics. Just because he's 5'8 now doesn't mean he'll stay that way, most likely he'll grow several inches.

To be fair he's only 18, and men grow till the mid 20's--so he can still hit a growth spurt. He probably won't grow into a monster, but no reason he can't be 5'11 or 6' feet tall.

That'll defiantly get rid of the hit from behind. Not to mention give new meaning to the term "dangle".
