The power play is a momentum killer, we play well get a power play and then stop playing.

Aside from not shooting enough, my biggest issue with our PP are the entires. We've had a lot of success in the past with the drop pass on the entry, but that was when we had Dats and Z, with both of them injured Babs has been unwilling to adjust the entries into the zone. The players that the Wings have right know on the PP don't commend the same respect and therefore are not given the same space to enter the zone, after the drop pass, and with little space to maneuver they just lose the puck completely. The coaching staff has been stubborn to adjust the entries which has cost the team valuable PP time. Try the drop pass but if that doesn't work don't continue to do the same thing, mix it up a little; keep the opposing team on their toes. Shoot the puck in and go get it or carry it in, be creative, the Wings have become to predictable. Thanks for listening. End rant.

I don't know what its all about, but the Wings always play the Hawks good even with injuries. It'll either be a close game with us winning or we'll get blown out. Either way I'm sure our boys will be ready at puck drop. Cross fingers. On a side note anyway else hate Sunday night games?

To be fair there might have been a small comparison to them as players but mostly I'm comparing the fan reaction to them. As far earning playing time, give me a break. What has Quincey done to deserve all of his playing time? How is Abby more deserving, especially with all the injuries, to play on the 1st line ahead of Alfie? The only guy that sucked that deserved all his playing time was Cleary. Not saying Babs need to change the entire ******* system, but come on did you watch the PP last game? It was a ******* disaster, how is trying Smith on the PP could make it any worse?

Smith will make a stupid pass and take at least one stupid penalty most games, but Kronwall has made some stupid mistakes over the years and yet we have a thread that discusses how great he is (and he is one of the top defenders in the NHL). I remember the uproar when E signed his contract a few years back, but since then he has been our best defenseman not named Kronwall. Just to be clear I'm not comparing Smith to Kronwall or E, but the fact remains that if Smith is put into situations that fit his skills he should improve. Smith is not a great defender but he does have offensive skills that have been underutilized, our PP is a mess and if Smith gets some time on it--it won't be the end of the world it might even help.

I know he's a center but why not try Ferraro? Or Callahan? I like Toots, but we need some scoring.

The reason he doesn't score anymore is because he doesn't have a passing center, when he played with Pav earlier in the year he was actually doing pretty good. Bert might be slow but he's still got great hands, he just needs someone to get him the puck since he can't get the puck himself anymore.My point is not that losing Bert is a tremendous loss, it's just that having Toots in the lineup is also not a tremendous gain.

But with Bert there there's a possible he can score, Toots won't score at all. Energy is nice but like other posters said 6-7 min a game won't be enough to provide an impact for a player like Tootoo. Plus I don't think Babs will play him for then 5 min anyway.
