Seriously I don't know how people can be so confident of this. The Selke award is way too hard to judge. There are no locks. Datsyuk is to Selke as Lidstrom is to Norris. You're kidding me yeah? There are many better defensive forwards than Datsyuk. Players that actually shut down the other teams best players. Pavel's role is not to stop players like Thornton, Iginla, Getzlaf, Gaborik, etc. We've watched massive improvement from Datsyuk in his defensive game. However, he's no Fedorov... yet.

Well, I always hated him. I never understood why he played on the blueline. He didn't have very good defense. His Norris' were based purely on his offensive output which annoyed my too. Anyway, a few people have him on their list so I guess I'm in the minority.

With Brind'Amour getting injured earlier in the season, he's got a better chance. This is a very tough award to judge though. Guys like Sharp, Fisher, Madden, Zetterberg, Kesler and Langkow have all had very good seasons and deserve recognition.
