I really think Lidstrom has a better chance than he's ever had. Mainly because of two reasons: Crosby's injury and Detroit's domination. He's the best player in the world and the most valuable player in the NHL. I can't understand why someone would think he shouldn't win the Hart trophy.

It's official: the Pats whole season was for nothing! Awesome ending. So worth taking the day off to watch the cheating Pats blow it!! That offensive line was a disgrace. They never came close to playing that bad in any game this year. Brady must be so pissed. Eli's sack evasion and pass to Tyree was classic. That's what makes sport great. Lidstrom should win the Hart because he is the best player in the world and has been the most valuable player to his team in the NHL in 2008. To me it makes sense. Unfortunately, I'm in the minority.

I have no doubt that Bowman, Yzerman or Nill would definitely go to Toronto if the offer was good enough. If the Leafs were to give Bowman absolute power over the operations of the club, of course he'd take on the challenge. Same goes for Yzerman or Nill. Yzerman I think is less likely as I think he'd want to do more of an apprenticeship first, he's no Bowman yet. Jim Nill however, is more than ready. Losing one of our boys as speculated is definitely not an impossibility. Let's be fair dinkum here guys.

1. He was talking about the scoring title, not league MVP. 2. Lecavalier isn't a cherry picker. I personally would prefer Iginla or Zetterberg but Vinny is a great player and would be a valuable addition to any hockey club. Being a good finisher doesn't make you a cherry picker. Besides, there's much more to his game than that. Ask Grapes. Back on topic, I think Zetterberg could very well do it. Kovalchuk and Vinny's teams will both be sellers and not buyers at the deadline. They will most-likely lose some of the talent to help them put up the big numbers required. As for the MVP, Lidstrom should get it. He probably won't because his contributions are too subtle but I honestly believe he's the best player in the world right now. No question.

Okay here's my question to you: If Alain Vigneault (who yes, has been a great coach and has done a good job) hasn't coached his team to any improvement, why has he done a better job than Andy Murray or Brent Sutter or Denis Savard or Jacques Lemaire? Because he had injuries? All these men along with others have seen better results and better improvement in the face of adversity so far this season. Mike Babcock and John Paddock have been able to get unbelievably consistent efforts from their players night in, night out. They haven't had too many injuries but I think the mental toughness they've got their players displaying is a result of exdellent coaching. Vigneualt deserves about as much recognition as Gretzky. Their success thus far has derived largely from their goaltending. Unfortunately, Gretzky will actually get it the props.

Burke just gets bored sometimes. I think this is his 26th pointless trade so far this season.
