I won't be, sadly. This weekend I'll be in Guelph, the subsequent weekends are open pending my financial situation.
-
The Griffins or Wings will just find sign a goalie or call one up from Toledo. However, unless Larsson shows something special, given the fact he is still waiver exempt, he'll probably spend almost all of next season in GR also. I believe he's exempt from waivers until he's 26 or played 60 NHL games.
-
CBC had Zetterberg, Bourque and Stuart as 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. I tend to agree with that one a little more.
-
I'm a little drunk but if you're asking about waivers, then he should be exempt for a few more years. Waiver exemption is linked to when a contract was signed and at what age. This was in 2008 and I think he's 23 or now. 2-way contracts have nothing to do with waiver exemption or minor league status or anything else. 2WC's are only for salary purposes.
-
Good idea. No chance a GM would claim a player that has won 29 playoff games in the last 2 years making less than $1.5m off waivers.
-
No worries Wombat. Your question is very clear. I've not read nor heard of any specified rule that disallows what you're suggesting. However, if the commissioner has reason to believe that Franzen is healthy enough to be activated before the conclusion of the regular season, and medically proves it, it will be considered a form of circumvention and the club would be penalised accordingly. Penalties could include any or all of: - Fines between $1-5m - Forfeiture of draft picks - Forfeiture of games affected by the circumvention - Suspension of club employees involved - Any SPC's involved to be voided, maybe even more; It seems very risky if Franzen is in fact healthy well before the playoffs begin.

Despite the fact you have made it more confusing, you are correct. I'm just thankful eva has given up on giving lessons about something he doesn't understand.
-
I forgot too!! LOL. This is why I didn't bother last season and I shouldn't have bothered this year. I'm hopeless. Saturday: Edmonton @ Boston Carolina @ Philadelphia Atlanta @ Ottawa New Jersey @ Tampa Bay Toronto @ Montreal Buffalo @ NY Islanders Minnesota @ Pittsburgh Florida @ St Louis Dallas @ Nashville Anaheim @ Phoenix Detroit @ Calgary Sunday: Boston @ NY Rangers San Jose @ Carolina Columbus @ Washington Colorado @ Vancouver
-
I dunno. I just don't see a Swede making it on the team.
-
Lol. You're telling me to read it yeah? Okay. You're correct you were wrong. But incorrect about why. I'll say it one more time. You can spend no more than the value of the unfit-to-play player's SPC. That is, $1.25m. This is regardless of where you are in relation to the cap ceiling. What you MEAN to say, is that in you example you can only go over it by $1.24m. I have NO idea where $1.15 comes from. Just give up.
-
The numbers in your first example are wrong. Also, you're wrong in that they can spend $1.24m. It's $1.25. They cannot spend more than the aggregate of the contract of the player being replaced. With regards to the other example, the numbers are wrong again. Just leave it with the NHL's example where it makes sense and the numbers are correct. You're confusing everyone more.

1) mindfly describes a goalie as brutal with no real analysis of his game. 2) I describe the way he played including strengths and weaknesses. I also mention a weakness that has been acknowledged by Wings staff for some time, his positioning. 3) I never mentioned his potential. 4) I never said Howard has been good in his pro-career. 5) Most here are terrified of the thought having Howard in net. 6) What about my post was unrealistic? 7) What about mindfly's post was realistic? 8) How could you have possibly missed the mark so bad in so few sentences? Look... just look how retarded your post seems now. Wow! Eight valid points from just a five sentence post.

I've explained why it isn't splitting hairs. It's no-one elses fault if you fail to read or understand it properly.
-
Lol. I get too much credit. Arguing with mindfly is like trying to score with no-one else on the ice.
-
I'll let you guys know for sure. I can't wait to get back to the D. All about the dollars though, ya know?
-
Oh right. You just hide it in an attempt to make everyone think you're a complete moron.

From the CBA: Also from the CBA:
-
If I understand you right, you are mistaken. It has nothing to do with the amount of time on LTIR.
-
He seemed pretty confident and strong in the third period and OT. Plus, his positioning has been an issue for some time. You just don't know, that's all.
-
Howard was very aggressive and solid in the third. He really needs to work on his angles and his rebounds. As his confidence grows, if improves in those areas he could be fairly serviceable.
-
Thank you. I don't know how much clearer I need to make it. I even quoted the CBA itself which says, in black and white, that players on LTIR count against the cap! No. If the CBA isn't clear enough here is further proof. Simon Gagne played 25 games for the Flyers in 07-08 and was on LTIR for a long time. However, his cap hit remained the same. Further to that, as previously stated, cap hit are calculated based on days on the active roster and not games played. Sk, you really need to read what I've posted here. I don't understand how you can have participated as much as you have in this discussion and then post this. Z and D is completely wrong. No, no and no. READ!!
-
No, you're not looking at this the right way. I explained this in another thread so I'll just copy/paste it: Cap relief is not having him off the books.
-
Condidtioning assigned players count against the cap.
-
Still on the books. That was the point of this thread.
-
Further to that, players on conditioning assignments still count against the cap. To get Franzen off the books, he must be waived. Bad idea.
