    Cam Ward and The Coach?

Yeah I remember that. It was Grahame though. That's why they were incensed. He should've been yanked in the second period and maybe the number 1 goalie could have stopped the bleeding being down 4-0. But anyway, as Henkka said, their defense is a disgrace. They will probably finish in the top 3 but they definitely aren't a contender because a Cup winner needs D. Theirs is sub par when they play well... and that ain't too often.

    12/4 GDT: Red Wings 4, Canadiens 1

I'll be pissed if we don't win this game. I don't respect the Habs much. Aside from their refreshingly unpredictable powerplay they are very much a subpar team. I can however see Carey Price outplaying Dom and this could determine the result of the game. 5-3 Wings, if we play well.

Osgood in net for Phoenix; Hasek in net for Montreal

It's more a case of us saying, "hey, ozzie is 12-1-1, why cant he win it now?" Seriously, his stats are ridiculous right now and we have the most consistent offense in the league. How could ANYONE be blamed for believing Ozzie can do it.

Whoa! Major deja vu. I believe I've heard that before. Come on that attitude is SOO 1998.

Osgood in net for Phoenix; Hasek in net for Montreal

Damn! I suppose Hasek had to play again eventually. It's a shame though. I would've LOVED us to have knocked off the Habs. You never know - maybe the team will score more goals than they allow shots and Dom will get the W. Just kidding guys. I'm not that pessimistic. I hope Dom plays well.

    Central Division, finally strong?

Fair enough allow me to explain. After 4 games, I believe the Hawks were the better team in only one of them. Let's be serious here - two of the games the Wings dominated. However yes, the Wings are still only 0-3-1. Hats off to Chicago for achieving this feat. Being able to win when you have no right to is a characteristic of a Cup winner. Moreover, the Wings are leading the league while the Hawks are far from it, that should also make it clear that Detroit is a better team.

    Central Division, finally strong?

Right now the Central is by FAR the best division in the league. All five teams are good. The only other division you could say that for is the Northeast but they aren't as good. And FRW, come on man. We won't lose 8 to the Hawks. After 4 games it's pretty clear who the better team is. The scoreboard should start to reflect that. I hope anyway.

    Gettin AO Outta DC

I'd be shocked if the Caps didn't become a contender within the next 3 years. I imagine AO would be of similar viewpoint and would be happy to ride the tough days out because soon he'll have more high draft teammates. And if it does NOT happen and the Caps remain pathetic - he won't be far from UFA status and can go wherever. No offer sheets necessary.

    Alexander Ovechkin

Wow awesome story, thanks for posting. I used to just love Alex for the way he played. It's great to hear he's a classy guy too.

    Russian One?

Lol. If this thread were last night's game against Calgary - sibiriak would be Datsyuk. Sweet moves man, you owned that kid. Actual life experience beats Googling every time.

    Russian One?

Yeah that's right I just made up that it said there're 37 Russians. That's what I do. http://www.nhlnumbers.com/countries.php It also happens to say ALL those players are Russian!!!
  12. Doggy

    Russian One?

No I know where they were born. However, their allegiance, their ties and citizenships would say that they are Russian. They lived in Russia, speak Russian, represent Russia internationally and have their nationalities listed as Russian. Sure, they were born in a part of the USSR that is now not part of Russia but it seems ridiculously technical to say they aren't Russian. And if you want to be that technical, fine. For the intent of this particular discussion however, let's just say they ARE because they sure as hell came into the NHL like any other Russian and are affected by the transfer agreement like any other Russian. Anyway, I checked out another resource nhlnumbers.com and it says there are 37 Russians in the league. I think it's counting players like Tverdovsky, Zhamnov, Yashin etc. so it's probably closer to 30. I can't be bothered going through them all to see.

    Russian One?

No they're Russian. That's why they represent Russia in the Olympics and stuff.

    Russian One?

Okay just worked it out. There could be more but the four players I noticed were: Nabokov, Vishnevski, Zhitnik and Zherdev. So there are at least 31 Russians in the league. Still not many though.

    Russian One?

There are more than 27 Russian players in the league that have played this year. NHL.com is wrong. Probably not many more though.

what would it take to get vinny lecavalier?

How 'bout this Dexter, you show me once where I said that you said he wasn't a good player. You can't, because I didn't. With every post you display how incredibly dense you are. I seriously think I'm dumber for having read your posts.

    Congrats to Henrik Zetterberg

I was just being facetious there buddy. Thanks for the English lesson though. I can't get used to this. My dry humour NEVER works on the net.

    Horrible song. Zetterberg plays good.

what would it take to get vinny lecavalier?

Forget about it. It's a pointless argument. This guy has no idea what he's on about. He obviously doesn't like Thornton for some reason and is very critical of any compliments aimed towards him. Fact is, Joe Thornton is one of the top power forwards in the league. He possesses above average offensive skill, is hard to knock off the puck, uses his size to oftentimes deliver big hits and at times drops the gloves. You'd have to be an idiot to argue a player like that is NOT a power forward. Granted, this year he has started a little slow and his on-ice attitude and desperation have left a little to be desired.

Jealousy of her doesn't change the fact she's hot.

    11/11 GDT: Blackhawks 3, Red Wings 2

Gee, thought the sarcasm was clear. Central is close to the strongest division in the league right now.

    11/11 GDT: Blackhawks 3, Red Wings 2

Whatever the only reason the Hawks will make the playoffs is because they're in the weak Central. Seriously though, what's up with them owning us so far this year. I don't think it's a coincidence we no longer look like a top team whenever we play them. After the Preds game you could tell it was coming soon. Hopefully this was a good loss. The next game against St. Louis will show whether or not it was. Anyway no big. There'll be plenty more losses to come this season so let's not get too used to winning all the time.

    Congrats to Henrik Zetterberg

Yeah his reaction was cool. I think it's because we care about his point scoring streak much more than he does. If that goal had've given us the lead that late in a game he would've been ecstatic but because it only gave us a three-goal lead it wasn't very important to the team and therefore, him. This is one of the things that make him great. He is a true team player for sure. And his girlfriend is hot.

Watching the Ottawa vs. Montreal Game Right Now

It's the same when the Leafs visit Scotiabank Place. They seem to have more fans and are louder too.
