No, that's exactly what I said. I'm 100% correct.
-
Don't stress, big fella. This is certainly not something that's already been said.

We were never going to re-sign Hossa. It was never really a possibility. But honestly, this team can get a very good rental or two at the trade deadline, once we've accrued a nice cap space buffer. Our cap situation is actually pretty good. We could most likely add $4-5m worth of salaries at the deadline. When was the last time we could say that? However, with the cap probably going down next season, they would have to be just that -- rentals. SR, now THAT would be an interesting move. Lol. A sirdrake-worthy idea, really.
-
Exactly. But Franzen will be back right? RIGHT?? I always thought he would.
-
Clueless.
-
Why should he have been nominated for a Vezina? I'd love to hear how you could make an argument that he was top 3 NHL goalie once in his career. And Anderson... I'm not even sure where to begin with this. I think I'll keep it simple. Osgood has more career shutouts than Anderson has wins. He's been a career backup until this season. If you knew anything about hockey, you'd know that.
-
For the past 12 months this has been true. For the past 12 years prior, the opposite is true. What's the better sample group?
-
Okay. So to you, 2 weeks of form is a better way to judge an athlete's skills and abilities than 13 years. This is why you're a complete moron and no-one has any respect for your opinion.
-
Anderson and Miller? Why? Because they're at the top of goalie stats so far this season? You need a new source of opinion, child.
-
Haha that was exactly what I had in mind as I read his response. Mindfly = destroyed..... again.
-
Ah yes. A few games perhaps. But not every game as you suggested earlier. He's also won us a few. Washington and Chicago were games where he played very well against very good teams we could easily have lost to. This time last year you saw none of that s***. You're just the typical emo crybaby kid who only remembers what happened in the last few days.
-
Not intently enough, kid. You demonstrate zero understanding of what is going on out there if you blame Ozzie for our losses. Actually, you just demonstrate zero understanding of the game in general. You think offside in hockey is like in soccer.
-
Gees you mustn't have watched many game this season then.
-
Yes, but that is only for the subsequent season and not for the current full roster. If teams were allowed to borrow from the future of their cap year, it could become a complete disaster. Thanks for the links BTW.
-
If I remember correctly, a hockey team has skaters too. As a matter of fact, I believe they have a lot more skaters than goalies.
-
This just isn't true mindfly. You really need to learn more about the game so you can interpret it better. Keep watching kiddo. Mac, I wasn't really referring to you as an Ozzie-basher I shoulda made that more clear. What I wanted to say to you was that he's really only done it once, so I think he's yet to earn a rep as a coaster in the regular season -- whether or not that's what you intended to say.
-
No, that's not what I'm talking about. And your reference to injuries tells me you need to gain a better understanding of the current CBA if you think you can make suggestions to improve it. NHLSCAP.com descibes it very well as a bank account: So there is a difference to what you're suggesting and if I understand you correctly, it's summed up in the bolded excerpt. But it's both pointless and dangerous to allow teams go exceed their current yearly cap allowance at any point as it only affords GM's the opportunity to get themselves into trouble. Particularly if injuries occur like with Calgary late last season. The perceived positive impact of your suggestion here is too minimal to outweigh its counter-productivity. You really need to look at the CBA from a businessman's perspective and not a Wings fan's.
-
For all intents and purposes, that's how it works now.
-
You're gonna need to rephrase this so it makes sense.
-
I don't think it happened in the end. But I heard some s*** went down for a while.

His divorce with his wife. Which as I understand it, was not handled well by him.

I'm not trying to say I'm cool with anyone playing poorly but I don't get why he has this reputation of sucking in the regular season and flipping a switch come April. It's unfounded. Last season he was heavily affected on the ice by personal issues and had a bad regular season. His play improved dramatically in the last month or so of the regular season. Thusfar, he's been below average with a few bad games and a few good ones. In a sample group on 10 games. Moreover, he's played so, so, SO much better than last season. He had a bad 10 minutes in Vancouver, but this season he has been challenging the shooter, coming out of the crease, and most importantly, his big saves have outnumbered his bad goals. Does no-one remember 2008?? It really wasn't that long ago. Stellar regular season. One of the best in the league. Something else about 2008 -- our defense was reliable. Ozzie-bashers need to get a clue.
-
Ozzie really hasn't been that bad this season. Especially when you compare it to last season. To say he hasn't played a good game yet is pure hyperbole.
-
I reckon I might be in town one weekend in November. I'll definitely be watching this space.

Because he's just SUCH a beautiful skater, it's pretty much a crime to disturb the fluid grace and beauty of such a display.
