I really feel like the Leafs will still lose.

What an amazing stat: 6:41 cumulative time with the lead this season. This is the first lead they've had since the Montreal season opener.

Well. See most people would say yes. You normally would but you understand that you'd be contradicting yourself. The reason that most people with half a brain would bet that Detroit would finish with more points this season than the Sabres is because they are of the opinion that they're a much better team. And that's what the poll is about. One more time... "Which team is better?". Now, you might be of the opinion that Buffalo is a better team overall. Fair enough. But the majority disagree. I just took a look and Detroit's ranked #2 now. Lol. Now THAT is a misrepresentation.

Living in TO, I know what you're saying, but they'd have to be complete morons to not cater to the millions of Leafs fans as opposed to thousands of everyone else fans, and not show Leafs games. It's a ridiculous request. If you don't like it, move.

I don't understand why everyone keeps talking about the kind of hockey teams are playing right now. It's not in the subject of the thread nor is it in any of my posts. The question is, "Who is the better team?" The Buffalo Sabres are not a better team than Detroit. You need much more than 6 games of "outhustling" to overturn the plethora of reasons Detroit is better. And by the way. Detroit can't be that bad if they beat Chicago and Washington. Two teams who I'm sure no-one would argue don't deserve to be top 5.

It's really not that difficult to interpret. The question posed is, "Which team is better?" and not "Which team is playing better at the moment?". People's opinions are that Detroit is the fifth best team in the league.

No. It counts against the cap. It allows you to spend over the cap limit but it still counts against the cap. The reason it's important not to look at it the way you do, is because having his payroll on the roster doesn't allow the team to accrue the same amount of cap space for the deadline that it would if he was off it. I might sound like I'm splitting hairs but it's really not and I hope I explained well enough the reason why.

A player on LTIR still counts against the cap. I don't get why everyone thinks they don't. Where does this assumption come from?

This wasn't Shea Weber's fault. If it wasn't him, then it would've been someone else. I believe Lilja had an existing problem that went undiagnosed until after the Weber fight which exacerbated it and caused it to be a real problem. When doctors saw his scan that night, they pretty much ruled him out for the season and probably more. This was just never told to the media.
