Threads like this have been attempted before. Once they're off page one, people will just ask the question again. Even if it is still on page one they probably will.

Everyone knew this months ago. The rumours about the job in Calgary started as soon as Keenan was fired.
-
I assumed that because you try to act hardcore a lot. Plus, you really like fights. Actually, you probably should watch more MMA and less hockey. You'd whine about Detroit's unwillingness to fight much, much less.
-
Lol. The old "you don't know much about <blank> if you think...". Lemme guess, the extent of your sporting knowledge is being a 90 lb kid watching hockey and MMA and wearing Affliction t-shirts that hang down to your elbows. Cool! Anyway, I already backed it up. The Wings don't care about the Pens. 1) Their backs were against the wall and were motivated by that. 2) Datsyuk played great, and even if he had played awful, his mere presence lightened the load for everyone else because it meant that our other players weren't as closely watched because Datsyuk needed attention. I don't think I'd be called crazy for thinking the return of a Hart trophy candidate means more than a Pens juvenile comments.

Okay so you agree with me on its affect on the Pens but have no opinion on its affect on Detroit, which was the main point of my post? Thanks anyway for the debate. I guess.

SIGH!!!!!!
-
Your viewing his post from a Pens fans' POV, which I cannot disagree with. However, he says in his post that Detroit took those comments to heart, which I disagree with.
-
So if focusing on your opponents' state of mind is a sign of immaturity, then why would the Wings, who I'm sure we can all agree are the most mature team in the league, give a s*** what the Pens have to say? Pittsburgh put themselves off their own game but the biggest factor was Detroit's motivation, without a doubt. A motivation born from what transpired on the ice, not off it. The Wings bickering amongst themselves was a sign of passion and discontent. The fact that they weren't indifferent about game 4 was all the writing that needed to be on the wall. Detroit doesn't give a rat's arse what the Penguins have to say to the media.

You're kidding yourself if you think that's the reason for the this game unfolded. Is this supposed to be some sort of analysis? If it is, it's without a doubt the single worst I've ever seen in my entire life. No offense. Lol.
-
Hey I'll be in Detroit this weekend. Not sure whereabouts your place is though so let me know and maybe I could go. I'm probably about a 50/50 for now.
-
Judging by some of the posts I've recently seen from some Pens fans, the OP checks out.

SportsK is great. I got a WC jersey sent to Melbourne too. Do it, brother.
-
Lol. Plus, Detroit is the main reason Pittsburgh is a major city.
-
Hmm... who didn't see this coming? Well, the mods apparently but yeah. I'm pretty sure everyone else did.
-
The kid thinks this series has been pre-lockout, clutch & grab hockey. He's too stupid to seriously discuss anything with.
-
LOL... I didn't know THAT! Geesus.
-
Indeed. It's so unfair to just give credit to one guy. We also cannot forget the contributions of Ray Whitney, Derian Hatcher and of course, the unforgettable Andy Delmore.
-
I already give the Pens a lot of credit. It's harsh they haven't gotten anything out of the 1st two games. The thing is though, I've been doing some reading through LGP - and pathetic whining and excuses is almost all you can read on that board right now. Sadly, there are only a handful of posters that seem to have sense and class. Right now, it looks as bad as a Flyers board in there so you should probably be getting on your own guys first about class.

Yeah, I'm wondering what the eff is gonna happen with it. I'm currently living in Fort Wayne and I watched an interview with the IHL comissioner a few weeks ago during the Final and he was saying all this stuff about how the ownership base is really solid and the IHL will grow eventually but not before the 6 current owners are all comfortable and blah, blah, blah. Gotta wonder if anything he said was true.
-
Totally. I mean, we have some pretty stupid Wings fans here, but that is just... I don't even have the words. I'm so glad a Wings fan didn't say it, though. How embarrassing.
-
Everything you have said in this thread is wrong. It's just your misguided reaction to the frustration of losing the first two games. The way the Wings have played games 1 and 2 is nothing... at all.. like the clutch and grab era of hockey. The very notion is ludicrous and the fact you believe it means you really didn't watch much pre-lockout hockey. I mentioned the year 2006 because that's when most Pens fans started watching hockey again. That's all. Your stupidity suggests you're one of those too.

This hypothetical stuff is meaningless to me. With this logic Chris Pronger was just a liability for the Ducks in '07 because they went from losing 5-0 with him, to winning without him in game 4.
