Definitely not. It'll never happen and with good reason. It's a matter of accounting. The salary cap represents a proportion of the league's revenues it feels is appropriate to financially flourish. When you drop cap numbers that allows more than that figure to be spent on player salaries and goes completely against the CBA a year was wasted to compose and agree to. However I agree teams should be allowed to eat an agreed portion of a players cap number in order to consummate a trade.

Screen, screen, screen. He seemed pretty exposed when Detroit had a screen in front of him. Credit must also be given the Hitchcock and the Jackets however. Their D is very disciplined and they play their system well. I also think young goalies are easier too "figure out" in a 7-game series because of the extreme mental strength required to be a goalie in the playoffs. Carey Price last year is a good example.

Me too. It actually sums it up quite well.

Yes. And a lot of it. You need to be extremely fit to control a racecar for a few hours. Have you ever been in one? I drove a Australian toruring car for 3 laps and was exhausted. Completely exhausted. It's incredibly physically taxing. Those guys are athletically fit... big time. And some of the posts in this thread are just due to ignorance, that's all.

I hate NASCAR but Shoreline, you are completely clueless.

Lower than who? Marleau has played with Thornton and Clowe almost all season. They've changed things up recently because of injuries and the addition of Moen. I'm pretty sure he was playing with Setoguchi and Thornton last game against the Ducks. if that's their second line, what's their first?

You'd have to be pretty soft to be afraid of Crosby.

Awesome news. I've never seen a post from you that had a clue anyway.

Yeah, Detroit's European scouting needs to change things up because what they're doing now isn't working at all. BTW Stolyarov is a Russian prospect. Just sayin'.

Nice. Watching this Ducks team that was a Champion less than 2 years ago, makes me appreciate how incredibly consistent the Wings have been for the better part of two decades.
-
It's been mentioned already. Wah has 29 more regulation wins but Marty will smash that too. It's not ridiculous to suggest Marty will get 700 wins.
-
It's alright. You can always come back and edit the post to be more accurate after the game is over.
-
Yeah, they weren't exactly scary.

You're tellin' me. I can't believe the Kings didn't win this. So many opportunities to take a win well before the shootout ever started. However, that's the worst quality of a young bottom-feeder. They often manage to lose games they have every chance to win. It takes a few years to develop into a winner like Pittsburgh, Washington or Chicago.

Is it just me, or does Kopitar move about as fast as mountain bike in the desert?
-
I can't believe how well Ersberg has played.

What a horrible call. The 8th PP for the Sharks now.

People are just watching their team in a tight race for top spot. They've made up a whole bunch of points in the last few weeks so Wings fans are taking an interest in it. Seems fair to me. No need to criticise people for taking an active interest in the fortunes of another hockey club.
-
Yeah, I didn't think of that. Brodeur will smash the record regardless. It's a good thing it isn't going to be close because that fact would really have taken some luster off the accomplishment. 550+ wins is just obscene though.
-
It was #551. Great respect shown by the fans in Montreal.

What does it say about the wings when they played like crap all season
Doggy replied to Phazon's topic in General
Detroit is a sleeping giant by its very definition. The only question is whether it's a nap or a coma. -
It was $3m and has been discussed ad nauseum in another thread. Talk about it there if you really want.

Most likely not a possibility to sign all three. Larsson could be more ready than Howard. But yeah, McCollum is a baby he's a years from the NHL.
