Firstly, Hudler will be an RFA so he will be cheaper to retain. If a team offers him $4m, as is what is being discussed for Franzen, they have to give up a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for it. No team would do that for Hudler, it's insane. Worst case scenario is Hudler gets $2.6m. Second, this team cannot go out and spend big bucks on a goalie. Ozzie is signed through next season and we even though Howard probably won't be what we were hoping, Larsson and McCollum are great prospects in goal. Furthermore, this team doesn't need a Luongo-priced goalie to win a Cup, and with a cap you can no longer pay for things you don't need. The fact is the cap probably won't go down much if it does. The 2010/11 season will probably be the one with the noticeable drop.

That's a best case scenario. I'd rather let Franzen or Hossa go than Hudler depending on the kind of money they demand. You can't just spend all your money on 4 or 5 guys long term or you'll be stuck with a crap supporting cast and end up like Tampa. We'll also need to pray the cap doesn't go down too much.

GM's want to give 10 minute misconduct penalty for fighting

You might need to explain the lockout to the Pens fan. He seems pretty new. -
She left for her new owner on Monday. She's probably would've gotten to Perth yesterday. I'm gonna miss her sooooooo much.

He's 32 goals in 23 games for the Knights. Plus, they're gonna be feeding him like crazy til he gets those two, you can be sure of that. Regardless, it doesn't seem that the CHL is acknowledging the findings and still have Peter Lee down for 213 goals.

With just over 2 mins to go. At a faceoff someone complains about Spezza's stick. He knows he's in trouble so he steps on it, breaks it and goes to the bench for another to which the refs demand the stick back. Measure and and the Leafs have a PP to try and tie the game. 2-1 Sens right now. Sens win anyway. Can someone tell me when the last time was, someone got busted for an illegal stick?
-
Sorry. I guess it's an Australian term. I'll try to keep them to a minimum. In this context, it's another word for "busted".
-
Edit: Missed Jedi's post.
-
Lol yeah. You pretty much know without measuring the stick if it's illegal or not. Just watch the player's reaction.

BS? Like your weekend picks and hockey knowledge? Sorry couldn't resist.

Forget the deadline, the OFF SEASON is where its at?

No, it's a hard cap. -
I can't believe that Pens fan called him a playmaker and not a natural goal-scorer.
-
The way NHL clubs hire and fire coaches still amazes me. Being one of the better coaches in the league makes no difference when GM's are forced to prematurely abandon long-term goals because of misdirected pressure from fans or owners who don't know better.
-
OMG mindfly how bad must your life be?

Sadly, someone might not be able to come back. GMR, will you still be a Wings fan if Lilja is no longer in the lineup? -
Gerber also got 37 of 38 shots against the Caps in his first game for Toronto in a 2-1 win.

I went to sleep at about 3.10. When I woke up, my heart sank when I saw Travis Moen went to San Jose.

Moore is going to Chicago. Confirmed by the fan590 in TO.
-
Not much. Murray has no leverage now.
-
Funny how a scout from a team non involved would hear that quick when sometimes the player being traded doesn't. Lol. Poor Rex.
-
Good pick-up for the Bruins. Recchi will be over the moon.
-
First for everything... TSN: "We've kind of forgotten about the Maple Leafs."
-
He wouldn't produce very well with us. He's a top-liner in TO. He won't get a shot like he's has with the Leafs with us nor probably anyone.
-
Indeed. If they trade Aucoin, the Leopold trade makes sense. Edit: Well forget that lol.

Okay. Let it go. I just think one goalie wins the Cup every year. In 1997 I'm inclined to give it to the Smythe winner. That's just me.
