USA TODAY: Lidstrom looking up at Weber, Boyle in latest rankings
Doggy replied to kook_10's topic in General
The only time I've ever seen it spelt Nik, is on these boards. Then again, I'd never seen anyone but some shlub on these boards spell "Lindstrom" before the 2008 awards so yeah. -
No way!! Family time is the only good thing about xmas. I hardly ever see my uncles and aunts and cousins.

Wow, that's a big call. You think it might have something to do with Brodeur being injured for almost the entire season? -
Is it really a time for changing goalies and 4th liners?

Thanks for wasting my time. I checked it out. Leino has 8 pts in the past 16 games. Downey has 3 all season. Ugh! Don't make s*** up for your argument please. -

Lol. I'm pretty sure two of those points came in one game too. So Downey has registered a point in two games this season *I think*. Again UK, I like Downey; but the LAST argument you should use FOR him is his point production. -

Lol. I want Downey back too, but come on. If you're gonna say s*** like that, at least be honest about it and give details coz it's not true. -

Maybe I'm just biased towards Draper and Maltby, but I wouldn't take those guys. No way. Yeah, I'm fine with giving them a go. -

Most teams fourth lines consist of players that aren't NHL calibre. This is what I am arguing. Pretty much every single team in the league would be happy to have Maltby, Draper and Kopecky on their 4th. I agree we need to get more physical. However, Maltby and Draper are very capable PKers while not many teams use 4th liners in the PK. Again, I have no problem with mixing it up. Bring in Downey or Helm if we can. I'm a big fan of both. But to say our fourth line is the worst in the league is pure hyperbole. You guys get so emotional when we lose. Would you prefer Jon Sim, Richard Park and Tim Jackman? How 'bout Boulton, Crabb and Slater from Atlanta? Wanna try Matthias, Repik and Tarnasky on for size? Didn't think so. Come on, guys. Get real. -
I know right!®

I don't know for sure, but I highly doubt that. She steals EVERYTHING!!! Rabia, you steal more things than you ruin... and 'You ruin everything®'. Smilies, sayings like "MEAN!™" and "Go die™", etc. Nothing is sacred to you. It's sad really. Very sad.

And your basis for this statement is what? They don't fight like Probert and don't blow you as well as Lilja? You fight fans are shocking. Can't you just go watch boxing? -

Yes and you are completely off. There are less productive third lines in the league, man. I'm not saying Downey or Helm shouldn't be given a go. But come on. The worst in the league??? I'm not trying to be a prick UK, but do you seriously think that? How many non-Detroit games have you seen this year? -

Do the old records not include ties?

I thought you got banned. Apologies if I upset you but our fourth line is one of the more talented in the league. To say it's the worst is pure emotion from a bad loss. Threads like this always pop up during these times. Outside of curiosity, how little hockey do you think the Detroit Red Wing management watches and understands? -

Probably the biggest overstatement I've ever read on this board. If you really think that, you don't watch enough hockey. -
I thought they made the conference finals before they got Thornton.

Avery hasn't been dropped by the Stars because he said "sloppy seconds". The Stars have decided not to have him back because it's not what is best for the team. The players don't want to play with him and the coach is sick of coaching him. This is a situation that has been brought about by not only his thoughtless comments to the media. No sports manager with half a brain would cultivate such a volatile environment in his locker room. It's very important in sports management to not dwell in past mistakes. They shouldn't be forgotten but never dwelt in. The only important thing is the future. The Stars are preparing for the future and trying to turn their misfortunes around. They aren't blaming Avery for their lack of success this year. They've conceded that Sean Avery is most likely to be more of a hinderance than a help in the future.

I wonder if Das Mule will rape them again? It'd be nice.
-
Hehe. So in what way do they look like the Wings?
-
They lost plenty of home games in the playoffs last year. Lol.
-
They did it because it's pretty clear no-one within the organisation wants to play with Sean Avery. There is no fathomable way, letting him come back could be benificial for the team.
-
Yeah bro it's on the last page. Also on NHL.com.

Hull is a selfish prick too when you think about it. This clearly demonstrates he is more interested in doing his own job effectively rather than providing entertainment to thr bored regulars of LGW. It's just rude.
