The experienced, seasoned Red Wings have been distracted, impulsive kids all season, or so it would seem. Now is the time guys like Yzerman, Shanahan and Chelios would come in handy. I'm still a little annoyed we didn't get smashed by the Sharks by 4 or 5 goals. We need a wake-up call as has been stated, however I'm skeptical that this loss will deliver it. This is the fourth time this season I've thought, "This ought to send them a message." Will there be a fifth? I'm hopeful this will serve as a wake-up call but I'm not holding my breathe. I look forward to seeing which players emerge as the leaders of this team.

Cam Neely was the greatest power forward of all time IMO and it's a fact that he set the prototype for that style of offensive player. This all in spite of an abbreviated career. This must count for something with you, eva. And since stats are all you get - he is the second fastest player to score 50 goals I think. He was just a gun. And the way he played through those injuries was incredible. You may have, but I have not lost my appreciation for the player that he was and it annoys me to hear you complain about him every time the HHOF in brought up. What do you get out of it? You might say you like to use him as a comparison but it doesn't work that way. You don't get into the Hall based on what others have done. Besides, as a player Neely shat on guys like Stevens. It's not even arguable.

Good game of hockey. Tonnes of skills displayed from both teams, just not much defensively. Great game for hockey fans to watch - not so much if you happen to be a Wings fan. The Pens showed heaps of heart and Zigomanis and Staal were money when their teammates needed it. Crosby and Talbot played good hockey too. I feel sorry for Ozzie though. He played well, but the Pens crashed the net BIG TIME and there were a couple bad bounces too. Our guys weren't physical enough in the slot and showed no aggression on the backcheck in the final 10 minutes. We need to harden up a little and quit allowing opponents forwards so much free reign in our zone.

Lebda's stats are mind-boggling.

Every time the HHOF is mentioned you start complaining about Neely getting in, eva. Every. Single. Time. Please get over it one day.

I've never really noticed the Red Wing hate. When I do sense some I usually take it with a grain of salt, which is what I took Strachan's dumb comment with. I watch CBC a fair bit though I'm sure not as much as others. I actually enjoy watching McLean, Cherry, PJ and Hrudey.

Jedi, your understanding of that rule is incorrect. The suggested contract would be valid. The contract can't drop by more than $5m per year. It hasn't, therefore it's valid. See Lecavalier's contract. $10m for seven years, $8.5m, $4m, $1.5m and $1m. It should have been rejected according to your definition but was not.
