Hate to butt-in but I found this ironic. I found Bob McKenzie's comments after Game 2 interesting. "I thought Thornton played well, Heatley and Marleau need to deliver more." Honestly, I've trashed Thornton so much over the years for his patheticness come playoffs, but he really has been so much better this playoff season and has been their best, most consistent player. IMO, it's no contest.

So, your contention is that because he can't single-handedly beat the Chicago Blackhawks, he's a choker. Them's some high standards. The Sharks beat the Wings because their top line didn't have to do it all. No team wins a Cup with one line. I also think Thornton has been their best player since the Avs series.

No, the trade deadline is for trades. Waivers is applicable until the day after the regular season or thereabouts IIRC. Regardless, nothing changes after March 3 with regards to call-ups.

I dunno, people might find this a little of an exaggeration but I honestly find Miller to be about as perfect as a role-player can be so far this season. He skates hard and he's energetic. He's defensively responsible and he seems to make the right decisions in his own zone. He's clever under pressure (he rarely ices or turns it over), his PK is exceptional -- resting guys like Hank and Pav, and by God, the guys consistently scores. And I mean consistently. I cannot believe how much offense we've seen from him. I'd honestly take him over anyone else in our current bottom 6 not named Helm. I'd even pick him over Cleary.

No, really. The question: So my friend and I have had this on going argument about who is a better defenseman: Kronwall or Ericsson. I answered his question. It has nothing to do with potential, but solely who is the better defenseman. The answer is as clear-cut as Fleischmann vs. Semin.

Before he got injured Kronwall was, IMO, our best defenseman and possibly our best player overall at that point in the season. Granted, most of his teammates have had particularly underwhelming seasons but he was pretty dominant offensively for a Dman and was also getting more consistent on the other side of the puck. Ericsson, on the other had regressed somewhat with the pressure of more responsibility compared to the way he performed at times last season. Ericsson was and is not a bad player at all, but Nik was clearly better than him last season. I think this season it is pretty obvious Kronwall has improved while Ericsson has not. In light of this, I think it really kills any possibility of a debate here.

9-1 over Columbus, 2-0 over Boston, 3-1 in Calgary pop up in my mind. Edit: The game earlier in the week in PHX was also extraordinarily solid. We completely suffocated them, their only goal was on a 5 on 3 PP. The much higher ranked home team never looked like winning.
