The sad thing is, if it's up to him Chelios won't retire until he's in his 50's. Holland will literally have to tell him to piss off. That's a shame.

Center Ice isn't available in Australia. All local telecasts are blacked out so Michigan residents won't see any FSND broadcasts on Center Ice Online. P.S. - Nice avatar and name.

Everything besides the Hossa signing was expected or not a surprise. The next biggest surprise was Stuart re-signing (I thought he would stay in CA). There was even speculation about Bowman going to Chicago a while ago so I wasn't that surprised about that.

Yeah it's blacked out when FSND has the game. FSN has the local boradcast rights. That's when you need sopacast or the like.

He's not a free-agent until 4 years anyway. You gotta lock up talent like that long-term.

Quincey doesn't have to clear waivers until he plays 60 NHL games. He's played 26.

Guys, 25 players don't count against the cap. Whenever you sign someone, he doesn't immediately count against the cap. If Hossa played in GR - his salary wouldn't count either. Technically, Holland can sign them all without trading.

I thought only active players counted against the cap. That is, the cap numbers of players like Leino, Chelios, McCarty, Downey etc. will only be prorated against the cap for the time they are on the active roster. As it stands Leino's $875k - doesn't count. Neither will Mac's or Downey's if they are in GR which is very likely.

I would hope Mitchell or Ohlund gets it. Both are deserving IMO.

He's a pup, man. Of course that's gonna happen. It happened to Yzerman, Messier, Iginla, Lemieux, Trottier and Gretzky too. Especially when they were young. It didn't make them bad leaders. It just made them human. But to be honest, I can't think of him doing it too many times at the worst moments. In those moments he scores goals much more often. MUCH more often.
