To be honest, I stopped listening to The Ticket about a year ago because of this problem. I felt that they were so uninformed about the Wings, or hockey in general that I couldn't stand to listen any longer. All the talk about Lions or Tigers made me feel nauseous. I am not a huge fan of any other sport really, but even my friends who are die-hard football fanatics can't listen to them. They have a sense of arrogance that bothers me.

I want the PS3 app One of my main reasons for buying it.. I'm sure it'll be on soon enough this week.

I'm a little upset by thks. He's on my fantasy team What am I going to do?! On the other hand I just traded Tyler Myers for Mike Green so I might be fine.

So I have decided that I am going to go to Game Center Live thanks to this thread. However, money is a little tight at the moment since I am a broke-college-student. Does anyone know of any promo codes that I may be able to use? I'm sure it's the same for many of you these days, but every dollar counts.

I appreciate the response but now realize my question wasn't specific enough to express my needs for either service. Well the reason for me wanting to buy Center Ice was because I just love the game and want to watch as many games as possible this season. I live in Michigan so I already have FSD, Versus, and FSN+. My concern really is quality of the games. I have no interest in watching the games on my computer. If I purchased Game Center, I would most likely stream it to my TV 99% of the time. So also in that regard, how is Game Center better or perhaps not better at all than Center Ice.

So I have a question for the people on this forum as well... I also want to purchase Center Ice from Comcast.. but after reading this forum, someone just said that they can purchase Game Center Live and stream through my PS3..? My PS3 is connected to the same TV as my cable box... so what would you recommend for me? Also, what are the pros and cons for Game Center Live vs. Center Ice?

I was sitting in section 223 (right above the empty section). It was crazy to see someone up so high. We had no idea how in the world he even got there. A few people were screaming for him to jump. He didn't even seem bothered by the security or police that went up there to apprehend him. He was laughing and smiling the entire time it looked like. Something was wrong with his head I believe.

For missing as many games as he did, I felt that he did a fine job. I didn't really expect him to go out and make any huge plays or score a goal. He'll improve and gain better timing as he plays more games.

I'm going to the Wings vs Hawks game on Dec 20 in Chicago. A group of guys decided that we'd book a hotel, buy tickets to the game, and drive to Chicago for the weekend. I was wondering if anyone else has had any experience dealing with these crazy Blackhawk fans that I read about everywhere. Also if anyone else had any advice as for fun and exciting things to do while in downtown Chicago I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks

Thanks for all of the advice! I'm very well-mannered when it comes to cheering for the Wings, but my friends that are coming with me aren't. I'm anticipating some sort of retaliation from the Hawk's fans. I can't wait. I'm just praying for a Wing's victory so I don't have to hear the s*** coming from them. We have a group of 5 guys and we're sitting in the 300 level sadly. All of us our in college and broke enough as it is. Tickets there seem to be expensive from what I gathered.

Long time reader of the boards, but I never post. Anyways my younger brother is friends with Mike Illitch's grandson. The two of them go to Tigers games regularly together and sit in the owner's box and enjoy a good time. Well my bro texts me yesterday and says that he had just met Ken Holland and the two of them talked for about 10 minutes he says. Kenny told him that he just locked up Jason Williams and is looking for maybe one more forward before the season (He didn't say anything about Patrick Eaves to him so maybe that's the other.) Holland also says that he feels very confident with the team next season and that they will be very good. He has a lot of trust in the young players coming up. My brother told him that he really needs to lock up all of the young guys like Helm and Ericsson long term. Ken told him that he's not going to let Jonathan Ericsson go anywhere and he loves Helm. He thinks of him as a more physical Draper. Also they were talking about the playoffs and he said that Datysuk's injury was actually a really bad charlie horse in his thigh. They told the media it was an ankle sprain so that if he actually played, Pittsburgh would try to aim for that area and hurt it even worse. Also he said Draper wasn't cleared to play for a while because something was wrong with a bone in his neck, and if he were to get hit too hard it might block his breathing tube and they feared that he could suffocate on the ice. All in all he said that Kenny is a very nice guy, just like I have read on here many posters have had nothing but great experiences with meeting him. He said he had to end the conversation short since Mr. I called him into his office in the owner's box to talk about something.

The way I figure is that eventually it will be out in the media, so what's the harm in telling a 17 year old Wings fan that we just signed someone? I think that maybe if it was a bigger signing or trade, he would've been more hesitant to say. But in all honesty, Jason Williams is no big deal.

Can I get some apologies? What good was lying going to do me? Honestly, I would be skeptical of someone online giving a story like this as well. However, it wasn't like I was claiming Mats Sundin was signed or Shannahan was being brought back. Everything I stated in the original post is true whether some choose to believe it or not.

Honestly I have no clue why it wouldn't have been out yet. I double and triple checked with my brother. He says the exact words were. "I just locked up Jason Williams." Maybe the "just" was referring to him signing or they agreed and just need to sign the dotted line?

It says so much about an organization when just a few years back was known as one which bought its championships and bought high profile players. And now there is a guy like Aaron Downey who did not even play in playoffs (if I remember correctly) and says that this team's loyalty means more to him than signing for perhaps more money and bigger role.

Wouldn't he rather retire?

I do think that Ken Holland might have thought twice anyways about trading Hossa without the no trade clause. What would future free agents who think if the Wings show the type of disrespect to Hossa. The man took less money, and a very shorter term on his contract because he wanted to win a cup and he thought we were the best fit. There would be no way anyone would ever consider the Wings for the same type of deal or discount in the future because they might feel we would just trade them if it benefited us in any type of trade.

Isn't scrubs over? I called Block Buster on the corner of Squirrel and Walton and they said they have it. I drove there (about a mile from my house) to only find out that they aren't selling until tomorrow. I was not very happy.
