No, there is more and more media covering players saying stupid s***. Players have said this sorta dumb stuff since the beginning of organized sports. But now everyone blogs and there's 12 channels that just cover sports and satelittle radio... there's just more media, not more stupidity. I agree he could have had a different tone, but he's gonna side with his team mate every time.

Thanks. But i think the intent of the OP was "was the penalty legit", based upon his "I didn't see it". That, coupled with the fact that the Vs announcers never said anything about the penalty (a good indicator of a s***ty call), multiplied by the already horrible officiating in that period, makes a lot of people here suspicious, especially when Danny O'Halloran was a whistle.

He "didn't have to"? WTF? So? The Hawks DIDN'T HAVE TO score in OT. This is hockey. If you get the opportunity to level a guy with a legal hit, you do it. And if you read the NHL rulebook, Havlat was indeed possession of the puck. I didn't wish for him to get injured, and I hope he returns for game 4, but keep your head up. Oh, and the game misconduct was a horrible call.

I agree fully. My only reason for optimism (besides the fact I ALWAYS think the Wings will win) is that the Hawks needed a period of s***ty officiating, a third period where the Wings played like s***, *and* us to be without Dats and Kronner to beat us by 1 goal in OT.
