What will keep Ozzie out is the simple fact he was never viewed as a dominant goalie. No Vezinas, never even mentioned for the Hart. He's viewed (rightly or wrongly) as a product of the Detroit system. Just to play devil's advocate- Look at his numbers with NYI and StL- average. Does anyone outside of Wings fans think he'll make it? Not enough to get him in, that's for sure.

We aren't able to draft ANY top notch forwards as we always pick at the nd of the round. All the A+ rated guys are gone. That's why we dig through the weeds in Europe, finding players who were looked over. But trust me, we'll take Canadian or American players who are looked over.

Next season, after Z gets his deserved raise, Dats will be the biggest bargain in the league. Edit to add- who's not on his initial contract.
