12/27 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Avalanche 4, (SO)

Yes, now you appear to understand what certain words mean. Congrats. You want to move Lebda for $650,000 in cap space? Pro-rated? I don't know what Volchenkov makes, so maybe. But Lebda is better than Ericsson right now. I doubt we can move Fil with his contract, and I'm not sure I want to anyway though I concede he is not performing well in his role/contract. I have no wish for more Dan Clearys, though. One #11 is just fine, thanks. -

Yep. The same thing we did in 2002. -

Moving players that are already there is not a roster CHANGE. That's my point. Keep talking down to me, it's about all you have. Please tell me your CHANGES. Change the organization. Go for it. Please lay out your plans. -

Please recommend some then. Fire Babcock? Holland? Trade Lid or Z or Dats or Franzen or Kronner or Stuart? Puh-leaze. The only changes we can make is on the 3rd line defense, and 4th line offense- or line tweaks, which are already happening. That's not as much a "change" as it is a a "subtle difference". -
Just... wow.
-
Maybe to an extent, but the media tends to dislike Detroit pretty strongly, as evidenced by last year's playoff coverage.
-
Osgood-goalie-war threads suck and are lazily written.
-
Yeah, I am tired of hearing how Crosby is the league's coverboy because the league hates Detroit and Dats and Z.
-
i think he meant that the Yanks tend to buy expensive free agents. Prior to the cap, this was a ding on the Wings and the cap was supposed to end Detroit's reign in the league. Unlike the Yanks, we develop our own talent a lot better.

I'm in Nebraska. Chicago gets my weather a day later (it was 61 here yesterday). It's 25 degrees and windy. It's supposed to say about this temp for the next week. I think we're all good.
-
I'd say it's 75% jealousy, 20% sore loser, and 5% of us Wing fans being too uptight about it.
-
He could, but I doubt it myself. It sounds more like if this was the playoffs, he'd be in. But it's not, so he's getting extra rest. I think Lids will sit out today, maybe Tuesday as well, but to miss the WC, he'd have to be held at gunpoint. Or, you know, seriously injured.
-
So dump Hossa and bring back Drake and Hasek?
-
It's like the guy is getting older or something.

As I bolded in the post you quoted (but I will bold again) when it happens IN THE PRESEASON. Injuries happen. That is a fact. They can happen in the preseason (good luck) or during the regualr season (bad luck) or even the playoffs (s***ty luck). It can be a short term injury, like the rest of a game (good luck) or it can take weeks or even months to recover from (bad luck). It is good luck that Lids has been injured twice so far this season, but only missed two periods.
-
I was implying the only "playing" of hockey he has done is via video games.
-
You give us PLENTY of ammo.
-
I would call sustaining an injury that makes a player miss games IN THE PRESEASON good luck, Lidstrom is not forced to wear a visor, but chooses to do so, and if you think getting hurt blocking a shot and missing TWO PERIODS bad luck, you are, as eva pointed out, pretty stupid. I would prefer to call you an overly pessimistic moron. And it couldn't be 17 years of playing for you- NHLPA Hockey came out in '92, so it's 16 years of "playing" hockey for you.
-
You're new to hockey, right?
-
This. I am tired of Z trying to gain the blueline by skating between both defensemen.
-
That sucks. I wish her family solace during this time.
-
I look for any excuse to post jailbait pics.

If the Hawks can move a goalie and use that cap space to add a skater, they would actually scare me this year. As it stands, they will scare next year.
