St Louis gets all irrational about us. Chicago, too. The Avs used to- they still hate us but won't go outta their way to rape our mothers. This whole Pens thing is new and fleeting. It's like Nashville trying to be our rival, without the 8 (now 6) games a year. Yes, we bounced you from the playoffs. No, we don't care about you.

Does Detroit have any players who flamed out their frist few playoff seasons? I coulda swore we had a few... Face, no one is prepared for 100 games in a year that first time, especially when the playoffs are so much more intense.

Saying Hossa and/or Dats is better than Zetterberg is NOT anti-Z. It's an opinion. No one WANTS him to leave. We all love Zetterberg and want to find a way to keep him. It's just that for the first time in Red Wings history, we have to balance the cap wit h the players we have. It will break my heart if Z leaves, but if it means we keep Hossa, well, I believe the team will better. Doesn't mean I hate Zetterberg at all.

Anyone know how the cap will look if we can get Z and Hossa to take Dats' contract, and Franzen to take $4mil per? I'm guessing either Z or Hossa will need to take a 1 year so Lids' contract can get off the books and he can take a reduced salary as well. And if so, it's Z's turn. Face it, relying on all-world talent to take significant pay cuts just isn't that likely, especially when we are asking 4 dudes to do it. Somehow, we are gonna lose somebody.

I hate to say it, but I see the downfall of the great Red Wong organization that we love and respect starting to die soon. Even if we keep Z and Franz, we lose Sammy and Huds. We are gonna start losing organizational talent now that UFA is an option. I am not saying that *NOW* the salary cap caught up to us, but now we can't be as polite and player-friendly. That said, we have 5 years of being great ahead of us.

Yeah, I know. It's only 30 games. But based upon the sum total of what I have seen, Hossa is my man. And since Holland and Z haven't made a deal yet, and the January Can-deal-with-Hossa timeframe opens says, maybe, just maybe, Holland feels the same way. * I grant Holland is still trying to find a way to keep 2 of the big 3.

I love Z as much as possible, but I'll take Hossa over him. It kills me to say, as Z is "the next Captain" and all, reigning Conn Smythe winner, etc etc. But Hossa is better. Maybe i am just tired of Z trying to skate over the blue line through two defenders and a forward and turning it over. That happens WAY TOO MUCH this year.
