Malkin's last week was not exactly "demanding" especially if he was sick, and Roberts is damn near 40. Not the same as 22 or whatever Malkin is. Sorry, but if Malkin had the flu 7 days ago, it's not even remotely an excuse now IN THE STANLEY CUP FINALS.

Ok then, how about this: Burnside should not have published his fantasy about the Pens trashing our octo-mascot. ESPN shouldn't have allowed him to. They are, at best, temporary douches. I wouldn't say it based on one game. I'd say it based on one season, where we allowed the fewest goals, had trwo goalies with stellar GAA (to quote Burnside- that goes to team defense), have two Selke finalists along with a past winner, and the probable Norris winner. Nothing bold about that.

I'm not saying that he didn't come up huge today- he clearly did. All I am saying is that after about a million threads bashing this guy like he was the worst player in Red Wing history AND then basically blowing him for two goals... well, it seems a little "homerish". None of this has to do with why you play the season, BTW.

"Doing your part", even for a series (and it's just one game) doesn't negate the bland averagness of his performance (at best... you guys said WAAYYYY worse about him all year) for the past two seasons. But feel free to order your Sammy jerseys now.

I've never really bad mouthed the guy, but one game is not enough for me to act like he's awesome. You guys are taking ONE GAME a little too far, especially the way you tend to mercilessly rip him day after day.

I obviosly wish the best, and hope for the Wings to win, but I am surprised i am the only one who thinks Mle comingback won't be much of an impact. he hasn't played in quite awhile. It takes a few games to get the legs back. Hopefully it won't matter, but it could be too late. Just saying... Also, I wonder what the Pens fans think of this development.

Doesn't sound like he was hating on Ozzie. He basically said that it's crazy that Ozzie is 6-0 with a 1.52 GAA and still isn't the MVP so far, and since he's not, Sharp is right. I would disagree with Nick being second on the list, but whatever. -
