I am conflicted here. Previous to this season, I worried that he whined too much and was a diver. He has toned both down considerably this season. He is obviously immensely talented. But I think the development of Malkin and the other young players, as well as the pick up of Hossa is as much of a reason, if not more, with the Pens success this year. I am not even sure if he's the best player on his own team, though he most likely is. I don't think they have enough playoff experience (outside of Roberts) to get to the SCF though.

I'm not sure the OP was saying he WANTED a close game, just that a close game was better for the league. And frankly, he's right- a closer game would have been better for the league. But from a Wings perspective, this game was almost perfect. Damn, people around here have to hate on everything, huh?

If we wrap up this series in 5, which we seem at least capable of doing, do you really think you sit your starter in the WCF or the SCF? Hell no. I find it odd that people are jumping on Hasek for one or two soft goals. Our other option is Ozzie. I seem to recall more than a handful of softies let in during the playoffs by him... and he is substantially older now- which seems to be the other knock on Hasek right now.
