There are stories about a certain person who currently has the MVP trophy named after him grabbing the puck when it was put down for a face off (back when the refs actually had to place it on the ice...), dropping his gloves, and asking who wanted to take the puck from him. Sure, it's bad... but how is it any different from the past? They have had riots in Montreal in the 50's over hockey. Literally, people took to the streets when Rocket Richard got into a scrap. That's much worse than 1 person getting hit from behind. Face it, hockey is a violent sport with a violent past. Now that we are in the information age with satellite TV and internet, we just see more of it.
