I think the anti-anti-Crosby group is taking this way more seriously than the anti-Crosby group. Maybe not the worst thing he's done or will do, but he's under a spotlight, so "like it or lump it" he should be aware that his actions will be analyzed, if not over-analyzed. Honestly, I know that there are a few people whining about every little thing Sid does, but one can hardly mention Crosby anymore without having their intelligence questioned. No need to paint everyone with that "Crosby Basher" brush.

Wow, got to give props to Cleary, Rafalski, and Datsyuk. Especially with Babs saying that their injuries were serious enough that they wouldn't have played in the regular season. Rest up for next season, boys. Got to love their heart - and balls, if you will. Speaking of balls, Lidstrom's injury is easily the weirdest one . Did anyone ever rewind a DVR and catch the play where he was "speared"? I don't want to presume anything without seeing the footage, but that doesn't sound like a common accidental injury. I can see your hair-splitting distinction, and like I said, I'm not picking on Crosby. I actually didn't even use the word "class." I also understand that the Wings players probably aren't scarred for life by his omission. But I believe that ever sportscaster, writer, and fan who called LeBron James immature for refusing to shake the hands of the Orlando Magic would agree with me. Perhaps I am just old-fashioned in my thinking...maybe the handshake line isn't as important these days as my parents and my coaches of old taught me. Is a simple symbolic handshake too much to ask?

The apathetic attitude in this thread surprises me. I fully understand that the handshake line doesn't change the loss, doesn't make it easier to accept, and "doesn't matter" in the grand scheme of things, but it's what good sportsmen do. It's a timeless show of respect for both teams. I agree that Nick Lidstrom would never be too distracted to shake the other teams' hands and congradulate them. If he failed to acknowledge the worthiness of his opponent, he would not be the phenomonal player and well-respected person that he is. And I don't say this just because it's Crosby who skipped out, but since it is Crosby and he is "The Face of the NHL," is that really the message the NHL wants to send? So all of the kids who idolize Crosby should think now that it's ok to not shake your opponents' hands becuase you won and you were too busy celebrating? Flame me if you want to, I guess, but I was brought up to respect the other team in both victory and defeat.

Osgood was lights out in the post season. He gave the Wings a chance to win every single night. I am sad for the whole team, but I am heartbroken for Ozzie - he deserved this Cup. He played like a champion and silenced his critics, but he goes home empty handed. Thanks for another great year Ozzie!!

I shut off the TV after the final horn, but considering how hard LeBron James was ragged on for refusing to shake hands after his loss, I hope Crosby gets the same amount if not more for refusing to shake hands after a win. Celebrate with your team on the flight home.

The worst part is getting texts and messages from people who don't even like hockey, mocking me at the depth of my sorrow. I was playing tug-o-war with my dog today and he hooked his claws in my playoff bracelets. I was like that's cheating! Lately he gets spooked by loud noises...so when the game gets intense and we start yelling at the TV he runs away haha.
