I am still confident the Wings can win, but that thread about the NHL being "unhappy" with the reffing in the first 2 games worries me... They can't be unhappy with the way the games were played unless they are unhappy with the results, right? Well, that was fast. But I agree that the Wings wouldn't want to beat a Malkin-less Penguins team, even though he deserved the suspension. They want to leave no doubts who the true champions are!

I had an acutely awkward conversation with my mother today. Somehow we came upon the subject that Mike Illitch may have a son about my age, and she told me that I should "go for him." I was like....yeah....and how would I do that? I dunno it just got really weird hahaha.

How is there always some crazy gray area play in every Wings Game? What are the odds of the puck landing on a goalie's back?? This reminds me of that time when the puck was caught up in Hasek's gear, he was pushed into the net, and the goal counted. Keeps the debates interesting I suppose. Like others have said, I think other non-calls in the game cancelled this one out. We've been due for a few calls in our favor anyway. I liked Ozzie's quote in his postgame interview, to paraphrase: "I felt it land on my back...but I'm not that flexible."

On a side note, do you think Crosby has ever listened to the "Crosby Sucks Anthem"? If so, how do you think he felt about it? I mean...somebody wrote a whole freaking song about how much they hate you. Not many people can say that.

I was nervous during the first period last game up until Abdelkader scored...I have a feeling tonight will be a close game as well, but hopefully I'm wrong - everybody loves when the Wings get a blow out

If we can take control early and nip their energy in the bud this first game, that would be solid. Poor Datsyuk - you know it must have killed him to miss a second of the playoffs, much less the finals. Godspeed, Pavel. Wings - 3 (Zetterberg, Hudler, Rafalski) Penguins - 2 (Crosby, Someone Else but the booth focuses on the beautiful pass from Crosby and analyzes the pass so many times in regular time and slo-mo that everyone forgets who actually scored the goal)

I agree, but he waited too long to unleash it. Timing is everything in comedy, ya know. This was like less than half an hour after the game, and me still in my jersey haha. It doesn't feel like a Friday...

Ohhhhh! It's not JUST about Crosby anymore, it's JUST about Crosby and Malkin. I see the difference For some reason this line of the article just stuck out to me as funny. I also kind of feel after Game 7 against Anaheim - and to a degree, Game 4 & 5 against the Blackhawks without several key players - that this series is the Wings to lose. If they all finish their checks, forecheck and backcheck, and generally play like Darren Helm on every shift, they will keep winning. That being said, hopefully the "good karma" thread cancels this one out

Oddly enough, a friend of mine who doesn't normally follow hockey just told me she doesn't like the Wings because they are always "so old and cocky." I knew it was pointless to argue, so I just but my tongue and smiled inside as her LeBron James gave away a 22 point lead...

Is it nice if I don't say that I don't like them? Hoping for a good, exciting series; may the best team (Wings of course) win.

How am I supposed to sleep and get up at 7am now??? If it wasn't so damn hot I would sleep in my Hudler jersey! The Bhawks fan I know used the phrase "Ville Lame-o" after the game was over...I quickly reminded him of his losses haha.
