Viewing the events after the whistle separate from my disappointment in the actual game, this is kind of funny: Perry jumping a smaller, less fight-experienced Rafalski in his first game back after weeks on the injury list? FAIL. Neids elbowing Datsyuk in the face, then pushing off Datsyuk's helmet and punching away while keeping his own shield on? FAIL. Getzlaf mixing it up with Hossa twice? FAIL. (Although out of all of the Wings on the ice at that point, Hossa probably has the most fighting experience...) At one point didn't somebody even wrap his arms around Lidstrom? Why? To stop him from breaking up other fights? FAIL. And to the claim against Lidstrom's "manhood" and "dedication to his teammates" (which is ridiculous enough in itself), in the second replay I noticed that he immediately skated into the thick of the scrum and started pulling Ducks off of his teammates. That's more than Zetterberg or the 6th Wing on the ice (can't remember who it was) did. Seriously, the Ducks pumped so much FAIL into that minute after the final horn, it's unbelievable. Do they really think anyone watching this replay of them squaring up against Rafalski, Datsyuk, Hossa, and Lidstrom is going to say, "Wow! That must have taken a lot of toughness and courage! Those smaller, skilled Wings players totally had that coming"? You stay classy, Ahaneim Oh, but a huge to Cleary's response. They'll get what's coming to them on Thursday - on the scoreboard at the very least.

As it should be. Mac will probably bring a healthy stack of victory cigars to share, just in case. Even so, if "ordinary" for the Ducks includes Cleary getting jacked in the eye, Homer getting sandwiched, and Hudler lying on the ice bleeding, I'm still a bit worried.

Gahh I'm getting restless! Still 3 hours until game time. So the rumors about Babcock dressing an enforcer are false then? (Well, besides Sammy - he's quite the terror, if only the refs wouldn't hold him back ) I hope that any goonery from the Ducks doesn't hurt us in the long run.
