Outside of Mantha, who hasn't scored an AHL goal yet, the Wings don't have a candidate to be their next genuine franchise player. Speedy little players who get pushed around by bigger, grittier opponents won't become franchise players in today's NHL no matter how much fans want to believe otherwise.
