There is an NHL Productions DVD out there called "Game 7 Collection," which has partial to full broadcasts of every Stanley Cup Final Game 7 in NHL History. The Red Wing games included in it are: Wings/Leafs 4/25/64 Wings/Habs 4/14/55 Wings/Habs 4/16/54 Wings/Rangers 4/23/50 Wings/Leafs 4/22/45 Wings/Leafs 4/18/42 It's a pretty neat DVD collection.

How about good ol' Doug Brown tying two club marks at the time with a hat trick and assist all in one period (the third) of a 5-4 victory over New Jersey on 12/19/97?

You know what this game looks like? It looks like the Leafs have been watching tape on the Wings since the schedule was released, looking for weaknesses. Ron Wilson knows he has a young team and that a win over Detroit would get them off to a great start mentally. In turn, the Wings have been thrown off a bit because the Leafs are executing well.

at least we're making Bettman work extra hours while he waits for an octopus to land on his head after the cup celebration

After getting back from the hospital from the two heart attacks I had during this overtime, I closed my eyes and threw a dart at my dartboard. It landed on #5. LIDSTROM WILL GET THE GOAL! Then I threw for the assists. #14 and #20. Lidstrom from Meech and Downey in a stunning turn of events. Then I realized I didn't have a heart attack and I'm really drunk and nervous right now. Thanks for listening. Or reading I suppose.

NBC's Powerplay Angle From The Blueline Is Horrible
dgodzina replied to Daniel Chosen's topic in General
Agreed......I always switch to CBC despite it's horrible picture because I hate that camera angle -
DET/DAL: 4-3 PIT/PHI: 4-2

2002 because of the reasons mentioned before this post and, just as importantly, every game in the that series was down to the wire (except for game 1 i suppose) and you expected a very close game 7 based on the previous games

DET/COL: 4-2 SJ/DAL: 4-2 MON/PHI: 4-3 PIT/NYR: 4-2

I've been to regular season and playoff games at the Joe and regular season games at the Sommet. The Sommet had more energy and noise in the regular season game that any JLA playoff game I've been to. However, that doesn't mean our crowds are lame. It just means that their crowds are a little more insane when they play us. And they should be. It's a fact that Nashville fans hate the Wings more than any other team and they would love nothing more than to get their first ever series win against us. Sounds like a good enough reason to get pumped up to me.

Can't complain about this performance at all. I mean, Samuelsson was the only Red Wing in the minus, but would you expect anything more from him? I liked the physical play.

WEST 1) Detroit 4-2 over 8) Nashville 2) San Jose 4-1 over 7) Calgary 6) Colorado 4-2 over 3) Minnesota 5) Dallas 4-3 over 4) Anaheim EAST 1) Montreal 4-2 over 8) Boston 2) Pittsburgh 4-2 over 7) Ottawa 3) Washington 4-3 over 6) Philadelphia 4) New Jersey 4-2 over 5) NY Rangers

My ideal first round would be: #1 Detroit vs #8 Phoenix (i miss the sea of white) #2 Dallas vs #7 Minnesota (wild fans would love the chance to knock out Dallas) #3 Colorado vs #6 Calgary (good, competitive division matchup) #4 San Jose vs #5 Anaheim (for same reason as Louisville said in previous post and I've wanted to see these two collide for a few years now)

STATEMENT sorry..... The Winnipeg Jets will win the Stanley Cup in 2010, the year after the Preds move there.

wonder if it was the same officials from the wings/sharks game

Here are his comments after the game when Downey went after him following injuring Lidstrom: “I didn’t understand all the commotion. I thought the hit was fair. The referee said it wasn’t illegal.” Here are his comments after last night's game against Los Angeles when Jack Johnson injured Ryan Smyth and Laperriere went after Jack Johnson: “It doesn’t matter if it’s clean or not clean, it’s a big hit on one of our big players and he got injured and someone had to do something. I felt like it had to be me. Jack knew exactly that someone had to come.” What a turd..............

Wow, that's a surprising stat. Wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that all but 5 teams in one of the conferences are above .500. That's how I lost interest in watching the Pistons and attending their games. It's turned into a joke following the regular season and come playoff time....well....I choose exciting, grind it out, fast paced action over game after game of fans and players yelling at referees at the end of the 4th quarter, which is usually sequence after sequence of foul shots. Viva Hockey!

Joel Quenville just got traded to Atlanta for Bob Hartley

In honor of tomorrow's game against the Leafs, and the fact that they recently gave up 8 goals in one game to Florida, I thought I'd share with you all the highlights of the 8-1 rout of Toronto in Maple Leaf Gardens from December of 1998. Memories from the game include Shanny scoring from center ice to tie the game at one and Kirk Maltby's first (and only?) career hat trick. Hopefully the same result happens tomorrow. Enjoy! Although the Leafs are struggling, they're probably feeling good about themselves after going into Montreal and getting a win against the red hot Habs. I think it'll be a close, 1-goal game.

haha that's some high quality acting
