Great article about our Dominator and his career achievements. All I can say is wow. He will be missed. Truly one of the greatest netminders to ever play the game, and he's going out on top as a cup winner!! Hey, Hasek was brought back. Anything is possible. I honestly think Cujo would swallow his pride and come back if he was asked. He's never won a cup, and playing in Detroit he would have an excellent chance at achieving that.

He was hideous in the Calgary series??? He was the only guy who showed up!!! He played out of his mind when no one else on the team seemed to care. He kept us in that series alot longer than we deserved to be. And yeah, I guess I am moving a bit too fast with what I said, but he can be scary when he's on his game, as he proved, and he would be an excellent addition to the team as part of a tandem.

Man, i'd love to have Cujo back. The guy is still a beast of a goaltender, and he proved it last year by saving Kipper's ass. If we could have an Osgood/Cujo tandem, i'd be happy as hell. GET IT DONE KENNY!!!!

I looked for info on this, and I can't seem to find anything. What are the requirements for a player to have their name engraved on the cup?? I was thinking about Downey and Kopecky, who have'nt played a game yet these playoffs. Are they eligible regardless because they played the in the regular season, or do you have to play a certain number of games in the playoffs to get your name on it??

We definitly need to play better, but it's very nice to see a goalie finally bailing us out when we need him to. Time to regroup and come out more composed in the second. And how in the ******* hell did Filpulla miss that open net??? I know he was a major factor in the win on Friday, but mannn, bury that s*** dude!!!

I don't think anyone even calls him The Dominator anymore. They showed a picture of him on the bench after he got pulled, and he just looked so old and run down. I like the guy, I always have, but he does'nt have what it takes anymore to do well in the playoffs IMO. But, I could be wrong and he could end up taking us to the cup this year. We'll just have to see. Right now he has'nt given me any reason to be confident about him though.

I am staying positive. I'm just more positive with Ozzie in goal. The saves he made tonight, Hasek would'nt have come close to making, as far as his play so far would indicate. The differences between how the two played were glaringly obvious. It's funny how the team seemed to get that little(understatement) jump in their step once Ozzie was in there and showed them he had their backs.

I guess we'll wait and see...

But when we win series in 6 games, we win the 5th game at home. Come on, there were alot of positives to take from that last half of the game. The way it started I thought we were'nt going to even have a chance, but we came back and made a game of it. What if Ozzie had played the whole series, and the rest of the team played their asses off in front of him like that? We'd be breaking out the brooms right now me thinks. Anyways, it's a brand new series now, best of 3. Take it for what you will.

This is my first post of these playoffs, but i've been lurking the GDTs each game so far, and I have to say great job, and THANK YOU to the non fairweather fans for staying positive. I just have to say that i'm extremely happy with the way the Wings played the second half of this game, and even though they did'nt end up pulling this one out, we had TONS of great chances, we played with heart, played physical, and how about OZZIE coming in in relief of Hasieve and shutting the door, making some amazing saves along the way?? THATS the goaltending we need in the playoffs, and I think it gave the players a HUGE boost of confidence to see him in there doing it. I now believe the Wings have TONS of momentum and confidence going back home with the series being a best of 3, and they will come out flying at the Joe. GO WINGS!!!

Pens fans i've talked to since this trade came through think the cup is theirs. They seem to forget their defense and goaltending are half assed at best.

Fedorov is'nt worth that, and Holland knows it.

This trade actually made me laugh out loud. "Sergei Fedorov has just been traded for...Ted Ruth??" Fedorov is finished guys, let him go out to pasture in Washington.

Anaheim has'nt gotten any better. They're the only ones i'm really worried about. Campbell bolsters San Jose's D yes, but beyond him they really have no one. Richards is'nt the same player he was a couple years ago, and the Stars lost Smith and Jokinen in the deal. Turco has been known to choke in the playoffs, and I don't think Holmqvist can hold the fort if he does. If Anaheim would have got Sundin, then i'd be s***tin.

Holland is probably putting the finishing touches on a deal for him. I seriously doubt were getting anyone.

I would like to see us land a Sundin or Hossa, but I really can't see it happening. We honestly have NOTHING to offer for either of them compared to what other teams do. Nothing Holland would be willing to part with anyhow. Filpulla and Hudler are'nt going to fetch what Marleau will in terms of getting Hossa, and why would we give Flip away for a Sundin rental? I can see moves being made, but nothing huge.

I'm all for smaller goalie gear. I remember watching the Devils play one night and seeing how drastically different Brodeur looked compared to the goalie across the ice from him (I forget who it was) in regards to equipment size. His pads come to the top of his knees, while others come up to their waist almost. That's stupid. You can obviously do just fine, and be safe in your goal with gear that actually fits you. The only reason for bigger gear is to stop more shots without actually having the skill. It has NOTHING to do with safety. Whenever I see a picture of Giguere, or watch him play, I can't help but laugh..hard. He looks ridiculous. They should make him tone down his equipment just for the fact he's making a joke out of the game and the position he plays by coming out geared up like that.
