Let's. Do. This. Thing.
-
This might very well be the only time I want to see the Red Wings win the series.
-
Well, the Blackhawks just did their part. What a kooky game.

A Detroit-Chicago conference final? A million times please. I don't think I even care that much if the Hawks beat the Wings. 1) I don't think they can. 2) The Hawks played way beyond my expectations this year already, so I wouldn't be too disappointed. On the other hand...Detroit can't just walk to the finals, can they? A Wings-Hawks final would be a great series.

The sky is blue. The grass is green. Marian Gaborik is injured. All in all, it's shaping up to be a pretty normal day here on planet Earth.

Oh boy, a popularity contest. It's just which fans want it more. Campbell as a starter? No way. Fans shouldn't be voting on the all star game.

GDT 2009 Winter Classic: Red Wings 6, Blackhawks 4
BlackhawksFan replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in Hall of Fame
I was at the game, and it was cold. The banter between the Wings and Hawks fans was pretty fun to hear. The Wings fans would yell "Let's Go Red Wings", and the Hawks fans would counter with "Detroit sucks!" over and over. I also heard a few "Let's Go Lions" chants. Watching the fans throwing the cards after they discovered they had written Red Wings was hilarious. The anthem got very loud, and that's mainly what I was hoping for. That's three games the Hawks have surrendered two goal leads to lose the game to the Wings this season. Which is completely unacceptable. Speaks volumes about how much further the Hawks have to go to become "elite" and how cool and collected the experienced Red Wing organization is.- 1,043 replies

To take nothing away from Datsyuk's immense skill, the goal was also somewhat aided by the fact that he was facing Cam Barker and Brian Campbell. They wouldn't know defense if it came and bit them in the ass.
-
Those are games that Blackhawks would have lost in the past, but hopefully consistency has finally been found by the current lineup. It's probably good for the Blackhawks to be cruelly reminded who the top dog in the Central Division still is.
-
Nope. Everybody's pretty civil on the three boards. They say the hit was clean, and that Kane fell awkwardly, but Cleary should be run anyway. And the Wings just scored. Crap.
-
I don't have cable, and my internet is slow, so I haven't seen these calls. But, yes, I am pretty tired of Campbell's spin-o-rama move. A 10-1 edge in shots! The two power plays certainly help that, but it's nice to see. Holmstrom is the Devin Hester of the NHL. He has his job and he does it better than anybody. But I'd by lying if I didn't say that his job pisses me off, even though it is legit. Probably more of the fact no one else in the league does what he does so well.
-
OK, but watch out. The Blackhawks Ice Girls are the defending "Hottest Ice Crew" champions.
-
Well, if there has to be a split, the Blackhawks might as well lose this one. So if Wings fans don't mind the Wings losing tonight, and Blackhawks fans don't mine the Hawks losing tonight, how the heck will the game turn out?
-
Yes. Yes I do.
-
But of course. WWW had essentially run the team in the ground by then, I wouldn't fault Chelios for wanting out.
-
Chelios should play, it gives Blackhawks fans something to boo. I don't think words even begin to describe how reviled and hated Chris Chelios is in the eyes of Chicago Blackhawks fans. Remember that game in April when Chelios cross-checked Kane about five or six times in a row? What minority of fans there were that supported and defended Chelios had an awfully difficult time vindicating that. He said that he would never play for Detroit, and then he did. Yes, it was a decade ago, but time moves languidly in Blackhawks land. It's been 7 years since a playoff appearance, 10 since the team's been any good, 16 since the last Stanley Cup appearance, and 48 since the last Stanley Cup win. Nine years is nothing, and Chelios is still as hated as ever.

This first look isn't deceiving Hidden in this gem of an article is: This sort of thing should not be happening at a hockey game. Blackhawks fans have put up long enough with McCub's theatrics. The circus atmosphere inherent to a Cubs "game" is, sadly, already beginning to creep into the United Center. Next thing you know, he'll be importing the century long championship drought, too.

30's, 40's. No precipitation.

ChiGuy! Fancy seeing you here... This year, just like for the past 12 years or so, Detroit is the better team between the Hawks and the Wings. This upcoming home-and-home will be great. Maybe in a year or two, the Hawks could be the better team. But, as it stands, Blackhawks management could learn a lot from Red Wings management.
-
Well, it's safe to say you missed the entire point. I was denigrating the post by that wayward Blackhawks fan, not glorifying it.
-
Yay! I'm not sure how anybody could accuse a Chicago sports fan of optimism (at least the good/old ones). This is, after all, a town that has the Cubs, the Blackhawks, AND the Bears (who at least won a game this year, unlike other NFL teams I could mention.). Teams that have founded their entire franchise history on broken dreams and broken promises.

Per weather.com: Thu Jan 1 Few Snow Showers 31° 27° Could be a little colder, but that sounds good to me. The next few days won't be rainy like this. All the snow melted today, but tomorrow and forward should provide opportunity to finish up the ice.
