As a Hawks fan, I wouldn't mind seeing the Sharks represent the West. But I think I'll be rooting for Montreal when you get right down to it. I've been a sort of fan of the Sharks for years now.

Post that on the officials board and I guarantee you you will get flamed. The Hawks have not beat San Jose in a couple of years now. The last one was that 6-3 win a couple of years back.

The Hawks can't make the 7th spot. And I don't think it's really explainable. Dee-troit sucks, I guess.

As long as you're not stupid about it. And today, I would like to say that the Red Wing fans on this board certainly outclassed Hawks fans today. Wiz is my favorite Hawks D, but that was a mildly dumb play to make. Anything that gives the Wings any momentum is bad. Especially with the three goal cushion.

I try watching the games on TV with the online stream, but the delay makes it annoying. So I just endure Dan Kelly. He's always speaking at the same excited pitch, except when he actually should be excited.

Chicago's radio guy, John Wiedeman, is awesome. I have never heard Detroit's radio guy, unless it's the same guy as your TV people.

Oh man. Scrappy scrappy hockey. I don't know if the Wings think much about the rivalry against the Hawks because they have been so anemic lately. But this will do much for it next year, not to mention Sunday. Chelios with a dummy play and the UC loves it.

Isn't that in comparison to the message board at the Wings' official site that started a week ago? Either way, I'm sure every team has a nice core of dedicated fans. The Blackhawks have had a dormant one for many, many years. The people that actually stuck around (like me) are quite happy about it. But you get a bunch of people who say "OMG KANE TAZE" and know next to nothing about the sport of hockey.

As somebody who posts at the official boards and Blackhawkzone.com, you're wasting your time at the officials. Even as a die hard Hawks fan, a lot of the people there are idiots. Blackhawkzone is where it's at. I don't want to speak for everybody that posts there, but the regular posters seem to combine a healthy rationale with a healthy hatred for Detroit. But we're not fogging idiots about it. EDIT: Don't take my word for it. You'd probably get bitched out anyway once found out.

Think about it from a Hawks' fan's perspective. 1) Detroit sucks 2) The Blackhawks haven't made the playoffs in 4 years (not including the lockout, you know). 3) The Blackhawks need to win ALL of their games to get a sniff at the playoffs. 4) The Blackhawks are desperate I could see the Blackhawks taking one of these games, but Both? I don't think so.

I remember that game too. Man, the Blackhawks sucked bad then.

Two weeks later the Wings are down 4-0 to the Blackhawks with only 10 minutes left. Mike Babcock Gives the young Iraqi the nod and he goes in. The kid is a sensation - scores 5 goals in 10 minutes and wins the game for Wings! The fans are delighted, the players and coaches are delighted and the media love the new star. Your father got shot in the street and robbed. Your sister and I were ambushed, raped and beaten and your brother has joined a gang of looters, and all while you were having such great time." Is it really that bad?

While you are all out celebrating your win over Columbus, the Blackhawks had Tony-O night tonight. Great team effort, destroyed the Caps 5-0. You know, like the kind of effort the Blackhawks showed against the Wings for the first four games of the season series. Ok, the first three. And Khabibulin made the best save I have ever seen, ever. Better than Caron's save against Philly. Better than Giguere's behind the back stick saves in the 03 playoffs. Better than Toskala's save against the Islanders. I don't have a link right now, but you'll see it in a highlight reel soon enough.
