I predict a minimum of two Wings-Hawks Conference Finals within Jonathan Toews' career.
-
The overtimes are only eight minutes long. Periods 15.

Fair enough. Samuelsson started it, though. Not like that's an excuse or anything. It has been suggested that by having the ref come in when he did, he lifted Wiz's arms to hit Samuelsson in the throat. I'd have to see it again. When all is said and done, that was a dangerous thing Wiz did, and he has been punished accordingly.

Crosby will go down as a great player, probably one of the best to play the game. Yzerman has already gone down as one of the best to ever play the game. But I think Ovechkin is better than Crosby, at least as of right now. Maybe that's because Crosby is injured, but Ovechkin as little to no support, but nonetheless he's a one man wrecking crew.

Basically. Crawford isn't supposed to be that good. But then again, neither are the Blackhawks.
-
Bah. Believe me, Hawks fans realize how far we have to go when Lang and Willaims, two Red Wings cast offs, are our "top 6" forwards. You guys still suck, though.
-
You didn't get rid of him. He just signed somewhere else. And believe me, we know.
-
He didn't stand a chance. Wiz doesn't take anything from anybody. Oh well. I guess I can see how blood = match penalty, but Samuelsson kind of started it.
-
Ouch. That looks very painful. Glad to hear he's alright. A heart and soul guy that has some skill too (e.g. not Adam Burish)

I really feel sorry for Buffalo. They've lost Breire, Drury, and Campbell, and now talk of this?
-
The West is going to be the Stars, Ducks, or Wings. I thought this would be San Jose's year, but they are pretty underwhelming. Who do I think is going to be the West champion this year? Honestly, I think it's too close to call. The Wings are slumping right now though. In the East, Ottawa has fallen recently. So the team I'm rooting for come playoff time is Montreal.

As somebody who doesn't understand basketball, I suppose that this is good news.
-
I think there's a lot of teams that would suck if they lost six players. 1961? Bah. At least we're not the Maple Leafs, who are in worse shape. Or Tampa.
-
I haven't read through four pages, but it's quite a dilemma. If you truly love your team, do you screw yourself over by leaving to give them a better chance for the future, or do you stay? In any case, Sundin is a class act.

:-( The Hawks aren't ready for primetime....not like the Wings and their 2-7-1 in the last 10 games.... Yea, I went there.

Ah, Detroit fans and Chicago fans unite! Based on the current rules, both should have been goals. And both calls when against both of our teams. Concerning Shannon's goal, I'd rather the league is consistent about a s***ty rule than inconsistent about a good one. It's easier to fix a bad rule than bad officiating.
-
Bah, I should be paying more attention to earlier in the season then. Meh, I guess take the good with the bad. It's unfortunate (for you, not for me ) that the bad ended up in the loss column. EDIT: Oh, and for the record, I thought that was a pretty s***ty call too. Could have at least been reviewed.

So Tomas Holmstrom's "interference" (whether or not you think it's real is besides the point) call is what decided the game for the Ducks. Getting up in goalies' grills is what Tomas Holmstrom does. He is known around the league for that. And if goalies keep bitching about it (which I'm sure they do), refs will look very, very closely and scrutinize everything he does. So there's probably a bias against him among refs. But if you Wings fans are willing to take the many, many goals that he causes rather than this particular one that was disallowed because of him, then there is no reason to complain, at least in my eyes. Or you can keep complaining. There are plenty of other teams that would love to have him.
-
I know my handle might get me flamed for the following, but here goes: No use in crying over calls. They are made. It was said Holmstrom interfered with the goalie. Does that take the game away from the Wings? No, it doesn't. The fact that they were down 3-1 probably has much more of a factor in losing the game than in some call the refs made. The refs didn't score three goals.

Dear Peter Forsberg, Thank you for not making the Red Wings better than they already are. It makes me jealous as it already is. Thank you again, Blackhawks fan.
-
5' 9" and 290 pounds? That's disgusting.
-
Don't take him. So very, very frusturating. He's done with the NHL, let alone the Hawks. I feel sorry for the guy, but what can you do?
-
What are you talking about? That was a pretty bad game for the Hawks. Very, very sloppy. I can probably count on one hand the tape to tape passes. The Hawks are hurting right now. And if any of you know this guy... Can you...dispose of him? Very, very annoying.

The Wings look more vulnerable than in recent years. But the team has been built pretty well lately. So I don't think Wings fans have anything to worry about.
