I can see quite a few upsets (a lower seed beating a higher seed) this year. Gonna be interesting. I think SJ will upset St. Louis, and the wings will 'upset' nashville. I also see Chicago upsetting Phx. So, we'll be playing chi in the 2nd! 2 series without west coast travel, sounds like a stanley cup run to me!

To those that know Nashville's roster well, did they get better defensively since last year or only better offensively?

I'll do it again... Watch this: "I don't know how Orpik doesn't get more suspension time." and "I hope Philly rams Crosby and knocks him out of the playoffs." I don't like Crosby, never have. No I am not jealous, since I think Datsyuk is a better player. Crosby is on his last leg anyways, and Bettman, who has thrown everything the NHL has to offer behind Crosby, knows it. So, they'll do their best to protect him. But, once you start having concussions, you're very likely to have more. Crosby's career is already in jeopardy and it won't take a dirty hit to knock him out. This is what the league wanted by changing the rules and bringing in the instigator rule. Nobody to blame but themselves...

Nashville the team does not concern me all that much. What concerns me is Pecca Rinne. A 9 foot goalie that has the ability to steal a series single handedly...and you know he'll be on his game. If I had to choose between the travel or playing against Rinne, that's a tough one. I don't like either... This was a HUGE LOSS today. It used to be that we could relax a bit in almost must-win games for the wings, because they won them all. Not the case anymore, not since the SCF loss in 09 really... We lack speed bigtime. It's so obvious in these games, the wings are going back for the puck and the forecheckers are already on them, the other team's defense is back to get their pucks quicker than our forecheck. We need helm, but we need more speed besides him.

What a nice win that was, against a very good opponent, that is tired of losing to the red wings. Great come from behind win. Kindl WTF dude? And Franzen, welcome back. Hopefully he gets going on a crazy streak now. For the first time in several 'playoff type' games the wings looked pretty decent. The game tonight seemed to reiterate the lack of speed on this team, and how helm is sorely missed. We need another helm on this team...

You know what, I'll say it: Ever since the wings blew the Pittsburgh series (where we shoulda repeated again), the team has been so lackluster...as if no pressure ever motivates them...and I think that cost them that game 7. The team doesn't play on the edge anymore. Again, classic wings passing it all over the slot area, nobody shooting it..

Tell you what, if the Wings draw the preds in round 1, we are going home. The preds got a taste of what it's like to win a playoff series. They are hungry and ready to win. Most of the wings players have a cup or more. And, it's nice that we worked hard to be a great home team, but I don't get how a team notorious for being a great road team through the years blew their diaper this year, not even going to finish 500 on the road. Are you kidding me? And now, our home record as of late has been bad. There's not a lot to be excited about this year. At this point, we'd be better of dropping to 6 and playing the PAC team...

I don't know how anyone can be confident going into the playoffs with this team as it is. They needed to beat Columbus on Wednesday and couldn't even win a road game against the worst team in the league, a team they murdered a couple nights prior at home. IF they can't beat a road team at Columbus, how does anyone think they'll go to a much better team's house and win games? Because at this point, I'm not confident we'll control home ice even if we get it...let alone win on the road. I have zero expectations for this year's run, and that really SUCKS. For the first time in decades I honestly think this wings team needs retooling.
