I think we as long time wings fans have to realize that the parity in the league has caught everyone up, or lowered the wings, to a very similar level of play. The wings are in the top 10 teams in the league, but the discrepancy between teams 1 and 10 is very little anymore. As a fan that got to see the great teams in the 90s I'm honestly annoyed that we can't stack a team and kick some ass anymore.

This team really pisses me off anymore. How have we become so bad on defense? How are we caught with our pants down it seems ALL THE TIME in our own zone? Not getting the pucks out, always in a scramble? Tired of it. We aren't doing anything this playoff. 1 and done. We suck on the special teams (odd for the wings), we can't clear pucks in our own zone...my God man...

Every point counts at this stage. But I think it seems like the wings would be better off getting the 6th seed versus the 4th or 5th at this point. I'd rather play a Dallas or Phoenix. Both those teams are 8-10 points back from everybody else in the top of the conference and it's funny to me that the one that doesn't get the 3rd seed may MISS the playoffs!

I just think the team is "off" and has been for awhile, and it's because of too many young new players on the team. That has put the entire team out of sync. I think with all the starters, cleary would look better, Kronwall would look better, Stuart would look better, hell, maybe even Hudler would look better (although I doubt it, he looks like a boy amongst men). It may be a blessing to end up 6th, and play the dallas/phoenix teams. I think it's pathetic that if you are in that division challenging for the 3rd seed, it's possible you could end up 3rd, or 9th LOL. Give me a break.

4-1 Rangers tonight...I'll be surprised if we get 1 point out of this one... Boy when was the last time I felt this frustrated with the Wings? A LOOONNGG TIME. For once it seems they can't control their own destiny.

DECADES!!!!! It's getting scary. At this point every team below us is catching up. Even through the great streak they were on, they were pulling out wins last minute, getting fortunate goals, etc. It wasn't like they were killing teams. Now it seems like every break is going against them. The breaks I guess... I'm seriously concerned. They really need to get a win tonight. The caps are another team playing for their playoff lives. The wings better get that playoff intensity going or they'll have trouble winning another game the rest of this season.

Crosby is arguably the best offensive player in the game right now. But He's not far and away better than others. Gotta be careful how we can get carried away with that. There are talents close to that level as well in the NHL. With that said, I'm looking forward to him getting Kronwalled in the finals .

If this is what life without Lidstrom is gonna be like I'm scared. I don't want a defense that barely hangs in there most nights. I want a shut down defense. We don't have one now with Lidstrom, but without, it looks like the defense get compromised quite a bit. We have had good goaltending this year to make the defense better than I really think it is.

This is the post of the night. I burst into tears laughing at this one... What is sad is that these teams get compared to the Wings and maybe it's my red winged glasses but I think the wings are much better than they are. It's the rules of the game that even everything out and give these scrappy teams a fighting chance...

16-18-1 on the road. PATHETIC. The wings hvae been known as a great road team for 2 decades. WTF happened? And what in the hell happened to our PP? I have been a wings fan for over 20 years and I seriously cannot remember a time when the PP was this disorganized, so bad that they can go several power plays without even a shot.

The wings better get their special teams in order. It isn't like they were killin it with a full roster, so I'm not going to give them a pass becuase Datsyuk and Lidstrom are out. But oh boy...I hope we get our guys back quick here so we don't fall too far in the standings...

Nothing good comes off Hudler's plays..EVER. You are the worst player EVER hudler.... ok i'm laying it on thick...but that guy shouldn't be on my team.

I'm so glad we scored, but just before the goal, WTF HUDLER? MY god! That's why I hate Hudler. He almost always makes the wrong decision with the puck, not shooting in in PRIME shooting area...instead passes it. He pulled that earlier in the game as well, I think early in the 2nd, had tons of ice in the slot and passed it but the pass got tipped away. Drives me nuts.

Yeah but the reality of the situation is the Wings will make the playoffs and if Franzen is scoring 1 goal a game or better, nobody will remember the regular season. It's just a fact. It's all about what he does in the playoffs, and thus far he's notorious for coming up big in playoffs.

It's funny Homer trying to screen Rinne. Rinne is taller, he sees over the top of Homer.

everyone pounds on Franzen in the regular season, and then come playoff time everybody is ready to bow down to him. Kinda laughable. With that said, I HATE HUDLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How is our PP so bad with this much talent? A couple other things: 1. I hate Hudler. I honestly have no idea how that guy has 19 goals or however many he's got. How many do we really remember as being 'big goals'? Hudler makes me scream every time he skates right through the hash marks and passes it off. The guy I swear is afraid of contact and gets knocked all over the place, and doesn't like to control the puck. 2. God we miss Datsyuk and Lidstrom. 3. The wings are free-falling in the standings. NOT good at all. 4. Loved the Kronwall hit, but he's probably going to be in trouble for that one.

I'm happy we scored but I'm highly pissed we aren't up by 5 goals in this game. COME ON WINGS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!

You know, looking at the standings, it's a disgrace that SJ is 3rd because they're leading their division, and there's 3 central teams in 4th, 5th, and 6th that are all over that point total. Just sayin...
