Maybe San Jose is just the better team. I don't really knwo what else to say. Sure they embelish everything but some of the calls are legit and frankly, we are getting outhussled to every puck. We don't have very much sustained offensive pressure, and the wings seem to be content on passing the puck around the perimeter instead of shooting it and crashing the net. If the wings don't find a way to get much more offense going we're done in 4 or 5 games.

If Howard plays like he did in game 1 and the wings team steps up the intensity I will not be worried. San Jose played about as well as they could and they still almost lost. The wings played a great 1st period and then seemed to lose some intensity. It was weird, usually it's the opposite. I would fully expect a higher intensity game today, much more hitting, much more focus, much more offensive pressure. 5-2 wings today.

At this rate the next goal will come in the 8th overtime. Rinne has 904 saves out of 906 shots, and Lungo faces 45 shots in 11 periods for the win. LOL

We need to hit them often like we did Phoenix. There was little to no hits given by the wings most of the game. I thought the wings came out good but after the first period they went to sleep. I don't really know why, but that's what it seemed like. They sat back way too much, they didn't forecheck hard, and that cost them precious offensive pressure time.

While I agree with you that the wings didn't get enough offense going, I disagree with how you disregarded the dives. The dives have nothing to do with red wing offense. They do however, have something to do with putting the sharks on fake power plays and having increased chances at scoring goals, and oh they tied it on one of those bulls*** powerplays. So, while I do agree the wings need to pick it up, the fans have every right to ***** about diving and bad calls. Sorry.

The problem is that some people around here would say you're simply whining about the refs. I tell those people to go f*** themselves. There is no other sport where referees can have such a profound impact on a game. The NBA comes somewhat close but only in the last couple minutes of a game. In this game anytime in the game it can have a hugely profound affect. So, when the refs decide to give penalties to a team that doesn't deserve the penalty, then yeah we feel robbed.

You really need to understand the difference between fans being very frustrated and bandwagon fans. Big difference. I do agree people need to stop calling for Abby's head after that bad penalty. He's a key part of this team now. With that said, fans have every right to be upset with their team that looked sluggish after the 1st period. I don't understand it either. Wings looked good in the 1st and then seemed to go into prevent mode for 2 and 3. WTF is with that?

6 to 2 the power play advantage for san jose. Mmm. yeah. 6 penalties to a team that was the least or second least penalized team in the league. MMMMmMmmm yeahhhhhhhhhh Oh but the refs are human and make mistakes. MMMMMMM right. How long will people continue to actually believe that bulls***? Wings definitely need to play better otherwise. They didn't have the puck enough, and didn't sustain much offensive pressure. They let Niemi off the hook. Most of the shots he faced were not threatening in the least. But the question continues to be, why do the wings continue to be penalized one of the most in the league in the playoffs but the least in the regular season?

This league needs to either tell the refs to stop calling s*** they THINK happened, and only call it when they really see it, AND CALL IT EVERY TIME THEY SEE IT. Stop calling chincy hooks while letting players get annhilated into the boards with elbows and all other s*** with no call. f*** that. Never going to convince me the refs are "just human" and "miss the calls". Bull ******* s***. Often they are looking right at the play and don't call it. That's MANIPULATION. The NHL sucks. I'm tired of seeing people let the referees off the hook for bad calls. They're NHL referees, just like NHL players are NHL players. We don't let our players off the hook for bad mistakes very often, so why should the NHL referees be let off the hook? f*** that, this is the NHL and I demand MUCH BETTER quality referreeing. So pardon me for being pissed off when referrees decide to call s*** they "think they see" because it obviously didn't happen when it's on a replay. And pardon me for being pissed when known divers continue to dive and get the call. Homer is a known instigator in front of the net and gets hammered constantly with very few calls EVER. Yet the sharks constantly dive and get away with it. Something is wrong with that. With that said, I do agree the wings have not had the puck nearly enough and have not had much sustained pressure. It did appear they were in prevent mode for 1 1/2 periods. Can't blame Howard when he's allowed 1 goal all ******* game. Gimme a break. IF we lose 2-1 in this game it's on the wings team not on howard.

I forgot how much the sharks dive to try to supplement their skill. It's a f***in joke. Like someone else said, Pavelski goes down like he got hammered and he's out on the PP next play. It's just stupid. But NHL refs are the best in the world. Yeah right. And the government isn't corrupt.

The refs have not called a lot of stuff on the Sharks, but the one they called on the sharks when rafalski went down was a bad call. But whatever. I think for the most part the wings have handled SJ pretty well, except for 2 flurries, one in the 1st period and one in the 2nd.
