Who wouldn't ever like fighting in any game? That's just not going to happen. People would enjoy fighting in football, basketball, soccer, whatever. That's a moot point. The point is that enforcers in hockey were meant to protect the superstars. So, if you sent someone to run at a star, you knew there would be hell to pay. That's been restrained by the addition of the instigator rule, and look what's happened? More high quality talent sidelined than ever.

WTF is Milbury talking about? Man i hate these clowns. There must be enough people that like these guys for them to keep their jobs.

Yeah i think on the replay I counted 9 shots to Homer's back. I just figured it wasn't called because it's homer. Absolutely ridiculous.

I just disagree completely with Milbury. Yeah people love the fighting, but it used to police the game. Nowadays with the instigator rule it doesn't allow your team to protect your stars efficiently. So, you get incidents more regularly where scum runs at superstars, like Ovechkin.

Can't wait to hear what the talking heads say about fighting. Personally, it needs to be in the game in my opinion. And penalizing or fining a team for "not controlling your players" is ridiculous. Incidents like the other night with pens and isles happens very rarely. The rules thus far have caused star players to be targeted. I think the rules should be loosened. Disagree, I think fighting DOES POLICE it, or at least it used to. Not so much anymore since the instigator rule. Disagree with this guy.

The wings don't like winning games that are low scoring. I think it will be 4-3 wings.

Can't say I don't absolutely love seeing the Pens dealing with all their troubles: injuries to whiny baby cindy and Malkin, amongst others. And, seeing them get beat up all over the place, and 9 goals scored on them. I love it.

I'm glad others have said it. People saying this was disgraceful made me refer to one of the most epic games in Wings history, Avs vs Wings March 26, 1997. How would that not be the same embarrassment? What would be the difference? McCarty and the rest of the team avenged the draper hit. AND, McCarty sucker punched Lemieux but yet nobody called him a gutless turd... I think these games like this, seeing bad blood boil over, are absolutely awesome to see. I am sick of all sports teams being buddy buddy with each other, like NBA teams giving love to each other after games, NFL the same thing. I don't want my team to like the opponent at all! I dunno. I don't think this game was an embarrassment. I think hockey needs this stuff once in a while.

Careful, saying things like this will get you lambasted, since we somehow still sit in 2nd in the standings. The lead we had on teams below us is dwindling. I hope come March we aren't fighting for our playoff lives. I am extremely worried about this defense.

What a retarded response. Where did I say anything about the coach being fired? The only thing I said is that I hope the coach hasn't lost the ear of the team. Usually babcock is absolutely on top of making his team play fundadmentally solid hockey, and the wings are not doing that and haven't in quite a long time now. I'm not all that concerned about the wings offensively, I'm majorly concerned about their defensive play. They're getting manhandled in their own zone, they continue to try to make ridiculous passes in their own zone that result in turnovers and scoring chances, and I'm sick of it, frankly.

And, my point proven on the 3rd goal. Unbelievable. COME ON WINGS MY GOD.

The wings are giving the preds a ton of room to skate with as they bring the puck into our zone. Explain it. The wings defense is getting handled while being forechecked. Explain it. The wings cannot maintain any kind of pressure while on offense. Explain it. What's with the constant non 60-minute efforts? This has been going on a long time. This team is not known for these problems. Why is this going on? The offense was able to hide the flaws previously but as of late it is really exposing the fact that if the wings don't score a lot of goals every night they are going to have problems winning games. This is my point. And this is a recipe for disaster in the playoffs.

Again, when you allow 4 goals a night, that's pathetic for this caliber of a team. It's great they were scoring 4 on most night, but you and I both know that winning that way will result in an early playoff exit, and my point is that this problem has been ongoing for months, even during winning streaks, because they were scoring more than they were allowing. But the fact they were allowing 4 goals a game is ridiculous. They put stats up showing it before (not tonight, but in previous games). I'm happy we are 2nd for now, but I don't know how you can really argue with me on this because we all know when the playoffs start, goals are harder to get, and when you continue to allow 3+, it will end your season real quick.

They were allowing 3-4 goals a night!!! This defense has been piss poor most of this season. I don't know what you guys are watching. It's ridiculous they have to score 4-5 goals a game to win. You must be out of your mind.

I'm sorry but I'm about to be very negative. This team is pathetic. I don't care if they are 2nd or not in the standings. They won't be for long if they keep playing this way. Notice how Nashville has 15 feet of skating room as they bring it in over the blue line into the O-zone, and the Wings are constantly covered with no skating room. The wings get no pressure offensively, and they CONTINUE to turn the puck over in their own zone. This has been going on for months guys. I am really getting tired of watching this crap. They need to start playing as a freakin team. I really hope Babcock hasn't lost them.

I think having the injuries they do doesn't help, but they were bad defensively before the injuries, so that's not the problem. Maybe this team has stopped listening to Babcock. I cannot believe he's telling the players they can make those stupid ass passes in their own zone on a regular basis. It just looks like they don't want to play fundamental hockey. I know it's fun and exciting to create plays like they do offensively, but when you go defense it has to be solid, basic, fundamental hockey. Otherwise you get beat by teams you should not get beat by. I'm tired of watching this team get ran around on constantly, outhussled to the puck, out skated, manhandled physically, etc. They didn't used to get physically manhandled before. That's something relatively new. In the playoffs they threw their bodies around more than the opposition a lot of nights so I just don't buy it. It's a matter of effort and focus on defense to me.

My sentiments exactly. I'm surprised that has not happened. A small player like Hudler gets kneed and takes his stick and wraps it around the Azzhole that did it. I am very surprised we haven't seen it.

Look I know this game doesn't have much room for enforcers anymore, but I think maybe the game should adjust back to having enforcers. You want plays like this out of the game, there you go. That's how you get plays like that out of the game. You remove the instigator rule and you bring back bad ass enforcers. Every team needs one. Then this doesn't happen. YOu pull something like that and you get your face smashed in. Cooke is ridiculous. When is the league going to remove players who do this? Whether it was knee on knee or knee on shin, or shin on shin, this type of hit needs to not happen. Too much talent ends up on the sidelines. Imagine having probert on Washington, seeing that happen? Next faceoff he gets put out there and goes and smashes someone's face in. That's how you fix this crap. Absolutely ridiculous.

I hope we get shut out 6-0. That's usually the only way this snobbish team responds. What a joke. I love this team but I am so sick of seeing no complete games in the last 60 or so. We lost the cup to Pit because we felt we should have had it handed to us. That mentality has not left htis team. I am so sick of watching lackluster play. I'm tired of seeing the wings HAVE TO SCORE 4 goals minimum per game to win. I'm just tired of it. Where is the defense? Where's the fundamentals? Where's the basic hockey skills? This ain't a drop in game.
