Agree 100% about Zetterberg and Filpula. I get the feeling sometimes Filpula thinks he has a Datsyuk jersey on and tries to act like it.

That's not my question. I was talking about why he gets beat on and nobody calls a penalty on it, but we cross check people standing in front of our goalie and go to the box. But since you mentioned that, I guess that's what the refs see. I think he doesn't interfere enough at all to be truly a penalty by rational standards. It's FRICKIN HOCKEY. they protect the goalies way too much. But I guess by current league standards, yeah, he does interfere. Just like Sedin did on Howard on that first goal. How many goals have we scored this year and got called back for some stupid thing like that? It's my opinion that goal should stand and did, but by league rules and the way it is called, it should have been disallowed.

Because the wings get called for penalties when they do that to other players who are not well known for bothering goalies like Homer. In my opinion, the league wants more goals, allow players to stand there, any cross checking gets called. YOu have to give a player his space. Why is it different when Homer is in front of the net getting beat on? I don't get it.

Wow. This game is a damn greek tragedy. How can they not call a penalty there when Homer was totally getting manhandled, and the puck is long gone? The refs have to know Luongo is flopping at this point. Call a dive, he'll stop. I hate that kind of crap. No sportsmanship. Bettman really pisses me off. Players running at star players, no consequence, diving everywhere, drives me nuts. Personally I don't think the little bit of interference on Howard should have been called anyway, because this is HOCKEY. But by today's rules, it should have been disallowed.

Seeing as how the wings never seem to like to make things easy on themselves, I think they're going to lose. Of course, I'm not hoping for them to lose, but it's been that way all season. I get excited, and then they pull something like last night.

What happened last night was disgusting. Everyone should be buying Raffy drinks after that point he earned us. To me it looked like the Wings were always looking to 'show up' the oilers and make a perfect pass. It was retarded. How many times did they keep passing it around when they had clear chances to go at the net? That is one thing that drives me absolutely nuts about this team. And Filpula, you are not Datsyuk ok? Stop trying to act like it. How many times does that kid have the puck knocked off his stick or bumped off the puck? I know his numbers aren't that bad, but I am not a fan. Putting him for the shootout was a little odd considering you still had Franzen and Zetterberg, and hell, even Bert. Filpula scored a big shootout goal last time or the time before though, so maybe that's why Babcock was thinking that. I can't believe we lost yesterday. I was disgusted. You cannot lose those 2 points to the worst team in the league. I'm definitely going to look back at this debacle if the wings don't make the playoffs. It seriously astounds me. We played the worst team in the league, with a goalie who has never won a game in 10 tries or whatever, and we give him his first win. WTF man? SERIOUSLY No excuse. Absolutely no excuse. They'd better beat Vancouver. I don't think Calgary will be helping with the standings anymore.

Could you imagine how long the off season would be if we don't have even 1 round of playoffs here? Oh the horror. I could not imagine watching the playoffs (even though I love playoff hockey and try to see as many games as possible) without my team being a part of it. Go Avs. Did I really just type that? WTF?

This is all because they have the Q behind the bench. Chicago will not win anything. And since they have to move several players next year due to the cap, it really sucks for them. Their defense just got weaker, and their goaltending is already suspect. Doesn't sound like a recipe for a cup to me.

The Wings cannot afford to blow this game. I have lost all faith in any consistency they will develop. They had me once again getting hyped after the Chicago win. They will probably win tonight, and blow the next game against Buffalo.

I swear sometimes i get the impression that the older wings have had enough success and are playing a 'safe game', meaning, they don't want any serious injuries before they retire. How do the wings continue to play so lackluster? I just don't understand it. I am not blaming Howard. This game was all on the defense. But, you can't expect to win games by scoring 2 goals or less most nights, either. I can't remember the last time I saw the wings scrambling in their own ends as much as they have done this year. It's rather pathetic.

Like we haven't had that go against us 50 times this season...about time we get one.

We scored 2 heavily screened goals to tie, and then scored a breakaway goal and another one that in my opinion their D cost them. But damn. Way to throw their goalie under the bus on national TV. First goal, bad luck, seocnd goal, what the hell was Filpula thinking? Win a game, look great, get the doors blown off the next game, win a game look great, lose again, wtf is wrong with this team? The loss of the 3 players last year should not have destroyed this team. COME ON. Get it together guys. They are skating decent and getting the puck low, just nothing to show for it yet. But to me, Chicago does look like we used to look. They have it going on.

Finally we stay in the playoff picture for a night. If we can win tonight, we can start putting a small gap between 8th and 9th. Come on guys, win this one. Get a nice little streak going here. Score 5 goals, allow 2 or less! COME ON GUYS! GET IT DONE!

I respect his talent but I can't stand him otherwise. Scoring that goal made me feel even worse. Couldn't it have been anyone else? I would have rather seen team USA score on themselves than see Crosby get the GWG. I'm not sure what's worse, seeing Crosby get the GWG last night, or seeing him carry around our Stanley Cup on our ice...ok, the latter is worse.

It just had to be Cindy Crosby that got the goal didn't it? SIgh. At any rate, what a game. Both teams played well, I never gave the USA a chance from the start to even win a medal so I am pleased with the Silver. Ugh, it just had to be Crosby...

I said this in the crosby hate thread but I love the fact that he was on the ICe for both USA goals. I F'n hate Crosby. Notice they never really mentioned it was Crosby that deflected it past Brodeur. It was just "a canadian skater's foot" haha.

The linup of USA does not scare me at all. Russia's lineup seems to scare me the most. There's nothing but pure setup guys and pure goal scorers on that team. If they find even 50% chemistry levels, they will be unbelievable.

They looked solid all game long. If they can play that way they won't lose much the rest of the season. I won't be getting my hopes up until they put at least 3 wins together.

Pretty soon the "L10" stat on NHL.com is gonna read 0-0-10 for the red wings.

Yeah, we ain't winning even if Howard stops 10 shots, since we can't score one frickin goal. I thought the choice of Tuzzi was weird. He hasn't scored in awhile. Why not Franzen?
